Exactly. End game is where most of the games complaints are about. This promotion seems like BW's way of apologizing and incentivizing players to give the game (and 1.2) and good chance. Its no coincidence they also have a "comeback week" for canceled players under the same promotion.

Don't get me wrong, I love playing 1-49, but let's call a spade a spade.
I totally agree, I have a semi decent text parser to utilise for the logs but, its still very stone agey. I really dont understand what the difficulty is in just adding it into the game to peruse just quickly.

Moreover, the practice dolls that they have added in, what is the point in those without a combat log? Unless I am to write the numbers down physically if I was not bright enough to get a parser it would boggle the mind.

Its really just pointless. Much of 1.2 was ridiculously pointless.

I think the OP is right, it was a giveaway for not including RWZ's in 1.2, BUT it's still a huge PR mistake due to the way it was handled.

The wording was all wrong, making out that lvl50 players are the most loyal. Also the gift was wrong, if it was directed at PvP players it should have been something associated with PvP, maybe some free PvP gear or commendations.

By making it an arbitrary lvl50 gift they've just annoyed half the player base for no good reason. If they wanted to reward people by loyalty it should have been a free week for every month you've spent in game, or just a flat 14 days for everyone to say thanks.

They could have handled it so much better is the real complaint.

But if you were hanging on for ranked warzones and didn't get it... boom, big likelihood of cancellation.

If you aren't level 50, not having ranked warzones meant nothing to you. And if you have been playing since launch and still don't have a level 50, ranked warzones are probably not even in your future anyway.

Now, should they have given it to anyone that has the Founder title and still has an active account? Yes. But, were they scrambling and trying to stave off a host of cancellations as a result of pulling rwz's at the last minute... yes again!
Conspiracy theories now? I think I've seen it all. LOL

Its a video game people, not the matrix for world peace LOL

How about they just wanted to say thank you to all the level fifties that have stuck with the game while waiting for the new content? Insane, I know, but, well, there it is.

New HM and OP for PvE, PvP 1 new WZ map.
PvP doesn't really work in MMO's.

It never has.

All that's wrong with WoW can clearly be traced back to the constant losing battle to "balance PvP".

The only way to have an MMO work while retaining PvP is to have two entirely separate skill and gear sets. One for PvE and one for PvP. Gear earned and skills used in PvP should not be able to be used in PvE in my opinion.

Its not like MMO PvP is even close to genuine skill (as in player skill) based PvP. The kind of PvP that games like America's Army once had, where everyone has the same gear, the same in game abilities and the major deciding factor is genuine skill. PvP of that ilk has never existed, and can never exist within an open world MMO environment.

What works in scripted PvE "dungeon" encounters and against free-world mobs invariably does not work when it comes to PvP.

IMO, and it is only my opinion, people who come to MMOs looking for PvP are like people heading to the beach with the intent to go alpine skiing. They really are in the wrong place.

But having played FPS PvP I understand the allure of PvP and I also understand that PvP players tend to be very committed - and that is something any game producer wants to tap in to.

However, I've yet to see one MMO where PvP actually works without negatively impacting the PvE content.

Added to that is the fact that PvPers tend to be far more vocal than casual PvEers in expressing their concerns and dislike and many MMOs (WoW being the classic example) end up being driven by the clamouring from 20% of the player base accessing 5% of the game content.

80% of the player base and 95% of the content gets ignored, or relegated to the status of "2nd class citizen".

SWTOR was supposed to be different, it was supposed to take the established MMO paradigm and shake it about - it hasn't. Its taken less than 6 months for SWTOR to become WoW with lightsabers and voice acting.

If it will shut up all the whiny people that have plagued these forums for the last 24 hours, please take away my free month for being a lvl 50 player. Was lvl 50 hard to achieve in swtor? Not in the slightest. I played super duper casual since EA with 1 character and explored ALL the unique content available. By unique I mean stuff that doesn't change regardless of alt class. Datacrons, operations, flashpoints. I socialized with my gaming peers, I had a great time. I was looking forward to the new features that only applied to my level bracket, but its all good. I have alts to make now that the legacy system is finally here and a free 30 days of play time to fiddle around with it. All the while hoping they implement RWZ before my free game time is over.

I am so happy for the rest of the players that have had to leisure to play the game how they see fit and are happy with the recycled content they play day in and day out with all their alts. Sure, class story is nice and unique to each class. Yes some flashpoints are different on either side of the empire/republic coin. Not enough so to force me to reroll alt after alt out of boredom. If that is how you have been playing and are enjoying yourself, than fine. You should be happy to give your money to Bioware.

If however you are on my side of the fence. Regardless of how the "I'm casual and am playing swtor how it was advertised, even tho I knew my alt patch was coming" try to stereotype us, we have played our level 50 characters diligently. We have traversed across the failed planet named Ilum along with its failed open world pvp, grinded our dailies like good drones, farmed the buggy operations for better loot while paying absurd amounts of credits on those repair bills, hunted all the datacrons, finished all of the bonus series for the story, and stuck with SWTOR because we believe in the possibilities, patiently waiting for the day when things will get better at 50. Bioware has given us a small token of appreciation for tolerating set back after set back for the players that enjoy end game content. The loyal ones who have stuck with it while waiting on eager ear for the day their promised changes are coming.

So for the rest of you people who, 4 months in still haven't experienced the above, keep grinding away at it. You'll get there and ponder... Hopefully coming to the conclusion of "Oh I see what they did there for the 50's." But if your still sore about it then complain! Complain until they change it. Its what the super casual do best.

Jesus Christ. People cry about EVERYTHING. OMG.

if you are unhappy and the BIOWARE makes you feel like housewife that got cheat you can do two things:

a) stay at home and cry and cry and cry more

b) stop complaining and go find you a new husband. Right?

BIOWARE has many things to improve and create, but its pretty clear to me: they are moving forward. They will get there.

This is just a game but for me its pretty much like real life. If you are not happy with something you must move your feet and do something. so, If you are unhappy about wait they get there, if the game makes you feel miserable, just unsubscribe and go find something that makes you happy.
