Glad to hear it, and i hope its the right one this time.
Cause the last 3 patches where it was claimed to be fixed, it wasn't.

I'm having the same issue, but I never enter any warzones. I'm currently questing on Voss in the second area. I restarted the game 1 hour ago because almost all voices and sounds were gone, some lightsaber sounds from time to time, and some stuttering ambient sounds also from time to time. I had to restart now Again because the same thing happened after only an hour.
Getting a little sick and tired of having no sounds or having to restart my game every hour or so, and it's been like this for quite some time now.

Edit: Oh and space sounds are almost all gone as well. The blasters cannot be heard if I press and hold the left button, but they can be heard from time to time if I spam the button.

Hmm.....this is in direct conflict with the email I received from Customer Support after I submitted my Dxdiag and msinfo as requested earlier in the thread.

To paraphrase the response I received, customer support asked me to specify exactly where sound issues occur. Which character I was playing. What time I was playing. What server I was playing. What action I was using, etc. You get the picture. There were about a dozen questions of this nature.

I CAN'T be specific, because it happens everywhere, at any time, but especially in WZ's and OPs. Doesn't matter what character I am playing. Or what time of day I am playing, etc.

I have my fingers crossed sound really WILL be fixed. If not, D3 and GW2 are only a few days away...

Thank you for your report. I can understand the frustration you must be feeling with this issue. I can confirm that I myself have completed the "Explosive Conflict" last night and was not able to reproduce the problem.

The information you have provided would be useful along with the information we have requested to investigate why it's happening on some systems. I would ask that you please submit this via the method requested above.

Thank You.
I would like to know if your QA team uses all the exact same hardware and driver versions? I mean in this other thread where you requested dxdiag info http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=434282 17 pages worth of us posted that info and the followup info. I read through a good portion or those dxdiags and the sound cards used by everyone were pretty varied. There were also a number of Win7 32/64 bit so not localized to the OS. There were also people with very high end systems like myself and lower end systems all getting this problem.

My whole guild has this problem every operation accept the 1 guy in the guild that likes to play with his sound off lol. I just find it hard to believe you guys can't recreate the issue on your side unless you have a magic hardware setup that you all share that happens to never get this bug. If thats the case then as a QA team you are failing, because you should use diverse hardware for QA testing to help find the biggest pool of bugs.

This is fantastic news!!!

If I may ask, will this hopefully be in the upcoming Tuesday patch/maintenance? I'd love to hear the game again - sound was not only a large portion of your budget (voice overs) but also a major part of the immersion for players.

I'd like an answer to this as well.

So I sent an email to support with the requested information. This was the reply that I got:
----------
Greetings,

I am contacting you regarding the sound issues you are encountering. After investigating your Dxdiag we would advise that you ensure you have the latest version on your drivers.

If in doubt, we recommend that you visit the official manufacturer websites to find the most up-to-date drivers for your hardware.

If you have any third party software running on your computer, you can try disabling it. If this is something you may be unsure of we would advise that you perform a clean reboot. Please follow the link below to the Microsoft websites on a full step by step on completing this.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

If you are using 3rd party hardware we would advise that you disconnect them and retest. [Headphones, speakers]

You can also try deleting your hidden cache, if this folder becomes full it can cause an issue, please follow the steps below for this

Firstly we need to ensure that the hidden file viewer is turned on.

Control panel>folder options>view>select show hidden files

• Go to Computer
• Click into your C drive
• Go to the folder Users
• Click into your folder
• Go to App Data – Local

Check if the folder ‘‘SWTOR’’ exists, if it does delete it. Once this has been completed please log back into the game and default all your sound settings.

Thank you for your assistance and understanding regarding the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused. If the issue should persist or you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Sincerely,

Claressa

----------

It seems this rep did not read all of my email as it also contained the link to this thread, as instructed, and was not aware of the request for information.
Anyways, my drivers are up to date. Also, I'm careful enough to not delete configuration folders. Imagine how upset people will get if they went ahead and deleted the folder along with their UI configuration files that they may have spent a considerable amount of time on.

This would be nice.

Careful though, they might delete your post and give you a slap on the wrist for bumping the thread.

Happened to two of my posts yesterday.
