Worst it's been so far playing today, within one WZ I'd got the static and then it quickly spread to my ship. Playing without sound on just ruins to whole experience.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Audigy Xtreme here running 5.1 speakers. Prior to 1.2 I had no problems whatsoever, after 1.2 the volume in space combat fluctuates randomly (NOT GOOD - i kept waking up my baby Daughter ) and I'm getting random static/clicky sounds - it totally ruins the experience

This is quite a conundrum for Bio Ware as they want sales and to keep customers but the Bio Ware management is pushing all out to get more patches out with out any debugging being done.

The Bio Ware management is costing them more money then anything else. I wonder if any of them can program?

(if they could they would not be putting out such bad code each week)

From launch in December to the 1.2 patch I had only a couple of minor issues with sound.

All of the speeder sound effects would just go silent. You just had to stop/start again if you really wanted to hear it.
On more rare occasions, some weapons sounds would disappear during combat.

I reported it in CSR's, on the forums, and other players in-game could confirm it as well, but it was never acknowledged. It never made a "Known Issues" list nor any sort of feedback was given. It seemed to be just swept under the carpet.

Again, I said it was minor and not a whinge on the problem itself, just pointing out the lack of acknowledgement of it.

And that's my concern over these multiple sound issues. Some are just going to get passed over with the appearance of being ignored.

It would really help if we had:
  • General acknowledgment of each specific issue and it's priority to fix so we know the ones that affect us are recognized and don't come off as being ignored. Set our expectations for a fix. Get them on the Known Issues list and even better, get a sticky here in this forum to communicate that status. We have asked for a sticky on these sound issues a few times here. The Known Issues list was updated April 20th and not one Sound issue was mentioned.
  • Regular updates on current status on a specific issue - A generic and singular "sound issue" being investigated isn't an update! AllisonBerryman's post was awesome as it at least addressed some of sound issues and we need more updates like that. Her single post in another thread from April 17th, has been the ONLY feedback that multiple and specific sound issues (but not all) are known about and being worked on. Again, get a sticky in this forum to communicate that instead of the multiple threads that are going on about post 1.2 patch sound issues.
  • A heads up prior to the next patch that a fix for a specific issue will be in it - Patch notes aren't released until after the patch. We are left in a perpetual state of "What the heck is going on with this??" hoping that a fix is included only to be disappointed afterwards it wasn't. Set our expectations ahead of a patch so we aren't in an even more PO'd mood afterwards.
  • Updates of sound fixes put on PTS and please really pay attention to the feedback! That's what it's there for right? Let us know when a specific sound fix is on there and let us try it out. Get it on the list and make sure the right folks monitor or get the feedback routed to them so we don't have to go through this again.

Ultimately this is supposed to be a community and my thought on that is we work together not only on ideas to make the game better but to solve problems with it as well. The handling of sound issues in general hasn't been that at all.

I ran the repair on the client, and enabled sound in background. Seems to have fixed the worst of the issues (conversations missing).
I still get the jet loop, like my character is being stalked by an invisible shuttle.
FOR NARNIA!!1!

The lightsabers sound like buzzsaws! I completely lost all sound just even move effects. Nothing.

Still have sound issues, just bumping the thread really so that BW do not brush this issue under the carpet.

The sound issues are game-breaking, and should be priority number one, even on a weekend, with a hotfix applied ASAP, even if its during the free weekend pass promotion.
Run-on sentences FTW!
