The reason for this is that Bio Ware REFUSES to let the OS run the devices and instead puts a interface between the OS and the game. This is 99% of the problems that SWTOR has in this game.

Why can Bio Ware not just use the OS to handle devices (it is designed for it) and this would fix all the issues.

This issue pretty much makes playing this game impossible. Especially when you're trying to level a character and you can't hear the words spoken by the characters. I hate having to read the text when BioWare ran out of money for voice acting and added random sounds pretending it's alien languages, but when it's every other quest, kind of defeats the purpose of having the questing done this way. It's the main selling point of the game, and it doesn't even work.

I can live with sound screwing around when I'm killing guys, not being able to hear my gun go off etc, it's annoying but it's OK. But voice over? Come on BioWare, this is a pretty big screw up.

Add me to the list of people with this same issue. Some sounds will play, some voices will work for one sentence then disappear, and that annoying static sound in WZ's, UGH!

I'll join the list as well.
Sometimes, a random sentence works while the rest of the dialog does now. It is a disservice to the voice actors to not be able to hear their work.
Also some of the FX sounds work while others do not. Half of my abilities do not have sound. My Spike ability keeps making noise well after the mobs are dead and respawned.

Really makes me not want to play until they fix it. VO work is one of my favorite aspects of the game, and if I can't hear it then there really is no point to finish quests.

There won't be any fixes now until at least Tuesday, they won't risk taking the servers down at a weekend, especially during a free trial.

I was so much looking forward to 1.2 but I have been playing much less the last weeks because of these sound issues. To bad because I really enjoyed the game before.

Same thing On FRENCH servers but who cares ....

Impossible to play in HM operation such the chamber without sound.

Make sure to fix ALL The servers included french and germans ones if you have planed to fix these sounds problems.

Of course I apologize for my poor English ... I also hate to see my language written as I do with English, but nobody seems to read franch servers
