I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I managed to complete the Heroic 4: Enemies of the Republic quest, which involved going to the Jedi temple ruins and getting something called an astrogation map or whatever. Anyway, I defeated an elite NPC that had like 24k health, took several tries with stims/medpacks/buffs and when I go to the senate tower to finish the quest, I get a commendation medal, some creds, and 5 experience points....5....lol....

Were you at level or much higher?
Remember kids, punctuation is the only thing that separates "Let's eat, Grandma!" from "Let's eat Grandma!"

If you solo'd that quest you had to have been a much higher level. Quests "gray out" (give negligible amounts of XP) when you level too far beyond them.

This. If you were well above the level range, you won't get anything for completely quests, even the Elite ones.

I had a guildmate who out-leveled the Elite quests on Coruscant, went back to do them (in his high teens for a few) and didn't get any rewards for it.
