1. Bioware wants metrics and info. Playing with the new class balance changes gives BW real server info before the implementation of the ranked system. (though i wish they had given us 8 man q's this patch at least as that data would probably be the best indicator of the new changes.)

2. Gives players time to mess around with all the other changes to their classes and game systems in general.

Only two I can come up with. The cons of no rated wz are obvious. EPEEN DELAY.

its good they didnt add it yet. broken content over broken content is bad very bad.

Here is another one, OP, personal to me but I'm sure others are in a similar position.

This is a good thing in one important respect.

If ranked was introduced I was going to have to juggle playing ranked games in 8 man cross-guild teams of fully BM geared players using voip (the only way that makes sense to me - solo or small group queueing for ranked would just lead to getting annihilated all the time and be very frustrating).

But I would have wanted to carry on grouping for regular WZs with guildies, allied guildies, and friends to help them get full BM and practice working in a team on voip so they could join the ranked teams.

Now there's a perfect fit - I will be hammering regular WZs to get my hands on WH mods (very reluctant to wear the green power ranger gear), and can help everyone else get geared up at the same time.

Except those pesky reps of course!

If they feel its not working as they want / players want then its better to remove it and add it when it is working as they want it to work, there is so manny changes in 1.2 so it will take weeks before your back to were it was yestarday

What BioWare pulled was lying to their customer base during the peak time of their renewal cycle to guarantee renewals from 10% - 15% of their population, then at the last minute (when they knew weeks prior to) claim that they're pulling a feature, which was heavily advertised to said population, due to "bugs".

Want to challenge me to a debate on release cycles, agile/scrum development and when decisions like this are made? I dare you.

In fact at one of those companies I worked at, one of the QA guys went on to work at BioWare - Austin. (Last I heard at least, a year ago) Hey Bryan!

Also - I was a line cook and yeah I treated that server like that, and guess what - she still went and complained and was the ultimate reason i stopped working for that restaurant.
LOL dude.. .you were a line cook and got shoved off by a waitress... LOL...

ok man.. cool....

LOL

yay for you for working as a developer... good for you...

again... nowhere do they NEED TO do anything like add in anything at a specific time.. again... read the box....

helll if they wanted to.. they could of just postponed teh whole 1.2 patch at the last minute...

that is UP TO THEM... NOT YOU....

THEY DO NOT have to put out a patch at a time they set... this is where you seem to fail to understand...

however, they still gave us most of the patch.. just not rated warzones.. oh my, far worst things have happened in the world.

LOL at you for getting upset over this.

The reason I stopped logging is because there was nothing to do. I have full BM gear and commendations just piling up. PvE was too damn easy as well.

Anyone that works with software development or deployment will tell you that this happens all the time. My company is rolling out a new software package this weekend and just announced yesterday that a major product will be excluded, because it wasn't ready.

Imagine the crying and "disappointment" if they had released it and it didn't work. The same people complaining today would be screaming their heads off Just relax and let them get it working right before releasing it.

As for everyone crying about people re-subing for just rated wz in 1.2. I'm looking for the exact link now, but I'm fairly certain that Bioware said they'd refund their money. Anything left to cry about for you guys now???

I am happy that I cancelled my sub way before and that it will end in a few weeks. Tired of being trolled by BW... to all those that say: I dont mind they are adding a lot, I am sorry but obviously THEY ARE NOT.

Legacy System:

Something for alts entirely and adding something to the ship thats totally useless or just too lazy to go to fleet to get. Did I mention that 90 % of the community actually already have 2-3 alts. Does BW really really think, just because I am now allowed to play a red-skinned model, keep in mind there are no racial benefits for classes, I will start a third or a fourth alt? I think not.... uh uh forgot.. if you have leveled at least one more character your lvl 20 Legacy, which I am guessing is enough to buy all of the stuff thats not alt related ...

PVP:

They took out ranked warzones, the last straw BW had to keep PvP people attracted. All BM ranked and geared people got desintegrated by their new ideas.. *** honestly... remove rank from BM gear and offer it for wz commendations... so now it takes 3 days to get BM geared ??? What a joke... Okay they did put in new gear.. War Hero... who of the community is not War Hero yet since the Valor gain per match is now insane ( 2,8 k for lost and 3,2 k for win).. another 2 days of grinding for the real pvp players ( Valor ranked 70+ and there are already at least 5 Conquerer (80) per side on T3M4) and then your up against WH geared... have fun in your recruit gear to be hit by 4k-5k hits ( if you dont know, your down in 3 hits), because they offer us an alternative to get WH non-ranked gear.

PvE:

One Flashpoint where you get Coloumni / Rakata gear from endboss, oh and your now allowed to go in as many times as you want per day.

One Operation. Story mode: Serverup 8:00pm, Storymode complete 9:00, Hardmode first boss down 9:10... Rest following soon... meeeh.

Corellia: New Dailies ... Rakata geared people ( and that is the majority of players unless new and have not done one operation yet, after which your 50% coloumni geared) will take 30-45min to do them, for gear that is less than the new operation mode, where you get more for less work.

Crafting:

Nothing new. They made the necessary fixes that people have asked for since january...

All in all I was hoping for ranked warzones and they were left out...The added content will be seen, experienced and cleared within one week at the most and there I will enjoy the last 8 days of sub and then leave this game behind, which I had hoped to be so much more.

You have reading comprehension problems. The issue has nothing to do with the inability to deliver rated warzones in 1.2, but in how they announced this change at the last minute instead of weeks ago when they had made the decision not to include it.

Also, CAPS-LOCK doesn't say your point any better, but does make it look like.. well..

u mad, bro.

Struggling for counter-arguments much?

@Safgril

You Sir, are an ignorant.

Yes Bioware doesn't have to do anything. And maybe you are fine about them lying to you, but the matter of fact is that there is a percentage of costumers that are greatly offended by being lied to.

And if those people leave the game for good what then happens to the game?
Less people = Emptier servers. Emptier servers = More people leave.
At some point in time a game becomes a shell with only the MOST dedicated fans still around.
Have you tried AOC recently? That game is practically dead. There are SO few servers left and very few people playing the game, its sad.

And the same thing could happen to this game. If they don't start working on the things that would matter to people. Legacy solves what? Should people that already have 3-4 level 50's really make another alt?

The focus of this patch should have been: Tweaking existing Ops/FP's, etc. , Making new ones, cross-server PvP queues with a working ranking system, and making server-merging possible.

What a waste it has been to make armor color able, making your 50-level chars races available to play on the other faction away from your guild, making a slightliy differnt WZ, etc. if you loose a bunch of players.

Why was legacy a top priority for Bioware? Maybe it was planned to be in their initial release and they just mindlessly plowed on developing it, instead of actually evaluating what their playerbase really wanted.
