Only for special people who constantly say how "horrible" SWG was and how "great" the decision was to design everything differently in TOR.
Erm,... this is probably the most boring video I have watched in 6 months. If this is what is being used to posit SWG as some superior game well.... I'm not impressed.

Actually, I'm anti-impressed. Glad I never played that game!

I dont hate TOR.

I just find it laughable, that you can work for 5 years on something, have to push it back because it wasnt done at launch, host a freaking summit where you hype it up to be the best thing since sliced bread.

And then.....

Its a window that does nothing more, than line pictures of your chars up in a nice straight line.

Seriously....

/double facepalm

Oh my, you really don´t have a clue what this is about, don´t you? Walking around in your spaceship, being able to steer it through space and planet atmospheres, flying over actual open world combat areas?
Yeah sure, everyone´s happy this is NOT possible in TOR... Derp.

Wait, I have to do it again, watch my reaction here

Here is a little less boring demonstration of atmospheric flight, perhaps this helps your understanding of open world game concepts.

Yet again, I must ask you to refer to my original post. I don't intend this to be a big thing about which game was better. Both sides can state their opinions, but respectfully so. Preferrably without attacking other players. Lord Ravenhurst, I am fine with your view on this whole thing. But please don't do battle with other players, save that for the Warzones. This thread is meant to be sharing opinions, not a whole big flame war.

Well to be fair, the subject matter is polarizing and there is no shortage of animosity between the two involved groups.
Long time player of SWG from cradle to grave. First Kettemoor, then Starsider.

True. Still, was hoping for some measure of friendliness between the two groups. Get them to shake hands or something, even a respectful nod before charging into battle.

Raven! You're still here I see.

Didn't I see you post saying you quit ages ago?

Come on... there must be some other game's forums you can haunt by now.

It matters not, this game is on the robes and it will continue to take blows until it falls. The first one being with the release of D3, the next will be guild wars , and last will be the panda release which swtor did nothing but laugh at.

The real laugh is that people will actually play a damn panda before they would consider returning to this game and its elitist we dont want no add-ons or LFG tool community.

notice how all the people who think the game is "good" are on the forums not actually playing it. They are hoping for a Dev to say "the populations are good!, we are merging servers"... silence.. sweet sweet silence.. as more and more quit.

All three of these will release and even then you still wont have 1.3.....

Funny. SWG posters know exactly what they are talking about; they liked a game that got shut down. That game is not this one.

No, we'll never impact this game's design because most folks have no patience, intellect, or desire for a challenge. What's interesting is that this game will fail too because it will never meet the lowest common denominator's desire for spoon-fed, cinematic-oriented do-nothingness that most require to have a good time these days. It will never be easy enough, simple enough, epic enough, or anything-enough for the crowd that plays it. These forums and the changes made to the game thus far have proven that. SWG made it 8 years . . . the clock is ticking on this game already.
