Until this thread I didn't even consciously realize that there was no auto-attack in SWTOR....
Needless to say, I don't miss it at all.

Great idea. It's an archaic concept. Glad to see it gone in most recent MMOs.

However, I'd be more than happy if they included a function that, on activation, would automatically cast the default 'auto-attack' repeatedly upon engaging a target without having me to click it.
One of the Final Fantasy games had a programmable interface for companion characters, so they would execute functions you pre-programmed them to do. Moreover, you could make such actions conditional, based on health percentage of other characters, strengths of enemies, etc. Would be killer to see something like that adopted for TOR.

For most of the classes I don't miss autoattack in the least.
The exception is the Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior, since it's built a lot like WoW's Warrior class, but without an automatic method of getting Focus/Rage you're busy constantly pressing buttons to do anything. Some see this as a good thing I'm sure, but for me, it makes these classes a bit busy/stressful to play since any lag or 1.5sec period where you're not pressing a button means you're getting less resources to do something meaningful.

I was iffy on it at first but I really like not having it actually.

It's nice not needing to stay right on top of a player every moment in order to be close enough to hit them with my autoattack constantly. Instead I can move around as needed and only step in when I need to actually do something.

I wouldn't want autoattack to ever be added to this game. In fact they've sold me on not wanting to have it in future themepark games.

I'm so glad that TOR doesn't have auto-attack. Yet another one of the basic features that made TOR bring me into the MMO market. Auto-attack is boring and not engaging. I want to do the attack, not watch the computer do it for me.

I think not having an "autoattack" is a silly idea, and a *real* silly thing to brag aout.

'Course, I'd argue that any ability that would always be used whenever it's available should be automated. Or at least automateable.

I want to spend my time/concentration on the important stuff that requires actual thinking/planning, not repeatedly pushing the same buttons by rote that any 5 year old could do.

autoattack is lame.
Ganking leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to pvp.

Complaining is the new meta game.
