I read it. I don't understand how lack of playing in groups and chat that consists primarily of LFG spam enhances the MMO experience. I need your help understanding it.

Personally I don't usually care that much about making friends in HM FP groups. Sometimes I meet new and interesting people and make friends, more often I'm just running something quickly before I have to go do something else. I don't deliberately avoid making friends, but it's just not a huge priority. What is a huge priority for me is having fun and experiencing the game content. If I could run flashpoints solo, I would. I can't though, so I need to be able to find other people to run them with. Even if I'll never meet those people again, I'd rather still be able to run the flashpoint.

What you are basically saying is that my priorities and my goals are worthless, and I shouldn't be able to group up with random strangers I won't meet again.

Why? It won't affect you. If you want to make friends in every run, just don't use it and form groups the old-fashioned way.
Excellent! +1 thumbsup! xrealm LFG would go a long way to adding some life back into this game (and it would make me spend more time in the game then trolling you all in here lol).

Excellent post!! Keep posting them like this one, because it is logical and truthful. In other words.... very constructive.

Here's a question for this thread...

What do you think about cross-faction LFG, assuming that if it did that, all PvP flags would be turned off, even on PvP servers.

I would group with anyone, but that would kill whatever story does exist for fp's and op's.
My epiphany about End Game in SWTOR!

No, that's not true. In wow, you can friend them and run more dungeond and raids with them. And someone posted that in rift, he had on several occasions invited people to his guild.

Cross server is very different than playing solo... you're playing with other people, can socialize with them, and make friends and connections that you'll keep for as long as you play the game.

Now, if you're saying that you're too antisocial to do that... well, that's your problem, not a problem of cross server.

This brings nothing to the MMO experience on one's own server, and actually draws away from it.
No, it brings something to the mmo experience on your own server; you get to experience playing an mmo instead of sitting around and waiting to play an mmo.

If a cross server LFG were introduced, more would come back to the game, and filling them would not be an issue, because people could go out and explore, quest, while queuing instead of sitting in Fleet and spamming.

no, you could certainly do battle for illum or false emperor cross faction without destroying the story.

That seems pretty fabricated to me. The longest I've ever had was 45 minutes, and that was right after cata was released and there were still a lot of people leveling to 85. There was never a situation where queuing for a "less populated dungeon" had a queue time of an hour, let alone 2-3 hours.

the last few dozen times I queued at 85, the wait time was always less than 10 minutes and generally 5-7 minutes. Low level dungeons were significantly faster, usually in the 3-5 minute range on a bad day.

cross server LFG is indeed the panacea that people claim it will be. Single server lfg will be worthless on the underpopulated servers.

really... can you quote someone saying that they don't want server mergers?

The reality: you were told that mergers won't fix the problem... because they won't. That at best, they're a very temporary bandaid to the problem. That's not the same as saying "no don't merge the servers" ...
