I can seriously see this as a Legacy ability. Get to lvl 50, finish some special quest to obtain a rare chip. Place chip onto your droids personification slot. Bammo, you've unlocked your droid as an active race! Come on, BioWare, you can do it! I'm sure that you can get Anthony Daniels to do some more voice acting for the roles! Or maybe get a new voice, since you'd be inserting a new chip into the droid!

It's about time the more astute and verbally acccentuated among this universe are recognized. It's all fine running around the universe, placating rival races and decombobulating the recalcitrant Sith (I have to divulge a Rebublic bias here). But really the universe would stop if good plain manners and a bit of house cleaning were left by the wayside. I think it would save no end of trouble, not to mention lives and planets if we were just a bit more civilised and clean. Can't wait for it.

Anyone that doesn't have the cranial capacity to realize that the entire development and implementation of this April Fool's joke took absolutely ZERO time away from development and bug-fixing of the game deserves to leave MMOs forever.

If I am able to take that droid out for a long walk through a short airlock in the mini-game I will quite pleased. I can think of no single installation in the game more useless and annoying than the ship's droid companion regardless of what the current date is. --m.
