My server Soresy has 20 on avg in the republic fleet, so we pvp against the same 8 people all the time.
Thank you for the read
-How many people are in the noob zones?

- How many people are in the Coruscant/Drummond Kass zones?

- How many people are in the zones after that, and the zones after that?

- How many people are in their ships?

- How many people are on the Empire side in all those zones as well?

These are questions you cannot 'realtime' answer. You just see '20 people in Fleet' and think that's your whole side or even your whole server. That's HALF a side, on a server in one zone at 2 pm EST on a Tuesday.. the first day people go back to work after a Easter holiday in the U.S.

I don't care if they merge servers or not. My little guild clears pretty much all the PvE content...working on Nightmare modes.

But I do really want cross-server PvP!!!!! Come on BW, this one change would make a lot of paying customers happy.

True, but if you often wait 30+ minutes at 10pm server time for a WZs to pop just to have it end 120 seconds later because not enough people joined....<Jeff Foxworthy> You might be on a low population server. </Jeff Foxworthy>

And it sucks monkey nuts.

I'd really like to see more dynamically created zones. Like Tatooine 1, Tatooine 2 when it gets crowded.

I don't know the details of how the servers are set up, but I assume planets & fleet are a sub-server of the main server somehow. It does seem pretty lame that there's only 20 people in fleet at ANY time -- it would be pretty cool if there was 100s of people most of the time.

Shrike, what department do you work in for BW and/or EA... lol

Fact is there are servers out there that are dying. Not everyone on these servers are asking for EVERY server to be merged or to be open for transfer. They're not asking to be able to move their character to healthy servers or to be able to freely move them to any server of their choice.

What they're asking for is for BW/EA to take the large number of dead/dying servers (and yes you're right, they know how many and which they are) and do something about it. Do strategic mergers, not just willy nilly open transfers.

I don't think that's a lot to ask when we all know why there are so many dead/dying servers... They freaked out at headstart and opened a ton of new servers for launch. Now they have wastelands out there that do not have enough people, regardless of what zone they're in (such an asinine argument btw,) to function at a fun/healthy level.

I like that one, it's different.

I've just been playing mmos long enough to know what to expect from any gaming company. After seeing enough launches, you will too.

Of course some servers are dying, lol. It's four months after a game launched. I don't think anyone is disputing that who's got half a brain, lol. The questions is (and this is where you come in).. WHICH servers are dying/dead?

You can't tell me. You don't play on all of them. You play on probably a maximum of three, if that. So your experience is only going to be "YOUR" server is dying or "YOUR" server is healthy. If you have a dying one, you want off. If you have a healthy one, you don't want others to come and add queue times for your prime time log ins like launch day again. And without information that's exactly what's going to happen.

Again, when you've been around the block a bit you'll understand that four months out isn't 'normal' to be shutting down servers. Most games wait a minimum of six months or first expansion. That's normal. Only one game I played didn't wait and that was Rift and when they allowed free unlimited xfers, their population went screwy before it stabilized.

Of course Bioware is going to do this and most players know it who've played. The fact that some want it now and Bioware hasn't done it says a lot more to me about the actual subs.. if people quit because they can't move and the subs were a problem, BW would hurry up and do it. Since they haven't responded I don't think it's that dire.

I solved the population issue on my server Pub-side. I rolled Imp on another server. The game is much better this way. Of course, it does blow that you are p*ssing away your Legacy, but that's just garbage fluff that you will make up in a couple months time anyway.

If you look right now.. there's a dozen standard and the rest of the servers are light.

If you look at prime time (on a good day) you've got about half a dozen servers that are above standard. With approximately a 50/50 split between standard and light.

Even the population for what would be labeled a standard pop server seems slightly scarce to me most of the time.

Any server that's labeled light and hasn't been anything but light for weeks is a definate sign of a dead server.

Last time I checked in on The Fat Mans pop I saw 542 people (both sides) on the fleet at prime time. Your server is booming and people who are sick of an empty server will either suffer on their server, quit, or re-roll to yours in droves, hence why it's the only server to really even have a queue time in prime time most days.

The fleet is a decent indication of population normally. A lot of people congregate there to pick up dailies/GTN/trade skills/flashpoints/ what have you. I can almost guarantee that 20 people in the fleet translates into single digits most everywhere else as well.

Has The Fat Man seen 20 people on the fleet either side at any time of the day in the past month? I doubt it.

Every server should be like The Fat Man or close to it in population. We've got too many servers now and our population is spread sparsely amongst them.

Bring the people together Bioware.

While I can agree with your last statement, yes, bring the players together, I do not think that every server should be like Fatman. Thirty minute queues? Fatty seems to be getting abused by re-rolls right now and it is unfortunate for the people who were there before desperation lead to rash decisions.
Evil is a word used by the ignorant and the weak. The dark side is about survival. It's about unleashing your inner power. It glorifies the strength of the individual.

The way the worlds are setup, once you're 50 there is NO reason to go to another planet. In this game its an annoyance to explore because it means you have to engage in hordes of static NPC's standing in the middle of a road.

So, try not to get your white knight cape dirty when you ask dumb questions like you just did.

20 people or less in the fleet is a good indication of server economy/population because it's a really telling situation for how many end game players are available. Most people complaining about lack of players are the ones trying to start guilds/create HM groups/operations. Is there some meeting place I don't know about for setting up raids?

Like many others, I fixed the problem my damn self. I re-rolled on fatman and having a blast...it was hard for me at first because i had to convince others but once they all quit and returned to WoW I had nothing to lose.

I had no issues at all leaving the legacy stuff behind as it's all useless fluff that they should never have bothered with anyway.
