When will there be a "SERVER MERGE?"

because of this very issue. I'm sorry BW, I really enjoy the game but the republic population on anchorhead is causing big issues for me. Now it has one less person Q'ing for WZs. When there isn't enough to get a full group going on a weekend, that makes it even worse.

I'll be back when there are merges.

I think server transfers would be a better solution to forcing a mass server merge that will run into a lot of conflicts such as duplicate handles. If you want to transfer to another server, begin the transfer process at which time the game will notify you if your name is available on that server, and in the likely event that your name is not available you can change it right there and continue with the transfer, or choose a different server.

There are a good number of people who do not like redoing the same content again. Not to mention those with guilds on less populated servers.

Right now there's 1 heavy, 50 standard, and 70 light servers.

Why are there so many light servers available at all times... is a new player going to pick one of them to roll on? Doubt it.

Something needs to be done when even at prime time there's only about 6 servers tops that are even holding what I would consider to be an adequate population. Bioware created this mess and they need to fix it as well, the sooner the better.

In addition to not losing my characters (and all the things that go with them), I enjoy playing with the handful of online friends I have on my current server - people who also do not want to lose all their progress. Not to mention, that quote from Bioware about working on the issue does not indicate whether or not this is a service we will have to pay for or a service they will offer as a temporary courtesy. So, do I roll another character on another server that does not benefit my legacy in any way or do I roll alts on my current server to build up my legacy and hope I'll be able to transfer them without spending a bunch of money?
Nah bro, its your fault, and rerolling and spending time (which everyone has in abundance, amirite?) slugging through content you either already saw or have no intention of seeing just to play the game with other people is the best idea ever.

As others have said, if you're enjoying playing with the handful of friends you have on your current server, then your server must not be dead.

As for the rest of that large paragraph, I'm sorry but that explanation makes no sense. I don't care if you only have 2 hours a week to play the game. The question is how much fun are you having with that two hours?

If you can have more fun with that two hours a week starting over with a new character on a new server while you wait for transfers to be completed and available, then why not enjoy those two hours rather than spend part of them on the forums complaining?

And legacy is not the end-all be-all of the game. If you are crippling your experience just to preserve a couple of points in one metric channel, then these are the choices you've made. In order to not lose ANY legacy XP points, and in order to not miss ANY of your current friends, you have chosen to stay where you are.

Don't blame BioWare for your choices.

Something in your story doesn't make sense, but good luck.

I rolled on Iron Citadel, at launch it was one of the first servers to go to FULL and have a que during early access. Now I log in and there are LITERALLY 9 people on the station and 3-5 on each planet. Heroic quests are a no-go and Flashpoints are out of the question. This game has become a single player game with lots of extra running around time. PvP ques are so long I forget that I ever joined one. Can't even get one other person for BT when I roll an alt.

I un-subbed a week ago, and will probably never come back. Which really sucks because Kotor was one of my favorite series and I was really hoping this game would be the continuation of it, but all the interesting story is in group content which I can't do. I've put countless hours into MMOs, WoW obviously, Everquest (1 and 2), Final Fantasy (both of them), the list goes on. And I have never been so bored as I am when playing this game. The story is nifty the first time through, but then it just becomes a repetitive grindfest with no community or even seeing any other players.
Nothing ever lasts forever. And that's how its gonna stay.

seriously? still no response?

For those of you who are saying "you'r ejust complaining, it doesn't match reality"

I've logged into two servers in the last 2 days during various points in the day. THe highest number I saw on republic side on either server at any point, total republic, not just people on the fleet, was 349. That was prime time, total players on republic side. That puts the servers 'total population' under 1000 at prime time. At one point during the day, around lunch I believe on Friday it there were 53 people online republic side.

I honestly do not think there is a perfect way to handle the surge of a launch, especially for a game with such pent up demand. Too few servers and you have people quit during their first days in frustration because of bad queues. Too many servers and you have people complain and quit because there are not character transfers months down the road. The first one is pretty harsh and can be fatal to long term growth. The second is painful early on but can be addressed down the road, and it will cause short term quitters that will come back when transfers are released. People who quit for other reasons won't come back, but those that like the game except for server population issues likely will come back.
Thank you for being one of the few understanding people. Overall it will be a ***** in the beginning but will be worth it in the old run
