When will there be a "SERVER MERGE?"

Maybe as defined by BW it is, but not by the player base. Again, the issue of fragmentation or sharding rears its ugly head. We've been complaining about this since launch. You may have 2500+ on a server, but you only have access to a fraction of that pop at any one time. Thus, the immersive feel is lost, as is trying to run FPs. Maybe BW didn't feel this was an issue because of their story-based engine.

If what you are saying is true on ZB, then there's a lot of damage already. Guilds disperse and players leave, and they don't come back. If this is ok with them, if they can afford to bleed subs, then maybe that's why they stay silent.
100+ players all in one zone, all doing their own ****, some grouped together, but ALL capable of interaction is definitely a decent chunk of population.

The problem is this only exists on 1-3 servers. If you log into zakkeg beast you'll see 100+ people on the starting zone, but if you pick ANY other 10 servers, chances are pretty good you wont see more than 25-35 in that same starting zone.

There is a lot of damage already, the debate over whether or not population is dropping is over, now the question is how long will it continue before they actually do something about it. BW is showing some extreme laze and complacency right now.

They certainly do. Not a great first impression of your intentions when you enter a new genre of game is it really...

I started a reroll on Canderous Ordo last night and made a Sorc....when I logged in at 9pm Eastern time there were 75 people on KORRIBAN

I only had a level 30 Sorc on a dead server so for me the reroll was easy an painless....an in 4 hours I got to level 15 on my new Sorc and did the Heroics on Korriban as well.

Just sayin it was the most fun Ive had in this game so far.....now I just need to find and or start a rated 8 man and then Im all set

I hope to god they will atleast fix transfer or even merge, cross fingers. I play on The Kumumgah EU and have had no PvP the last 1½ week and its about 50 ppl on prime time from lvl 1-50 and about 5-10 are lvl 50s.

I love my merc and the time I have put in and the time it would take to relvl and so on is a nono for me.

On the fleet right now we are 4 at 18.52, neat.

I just want to play with ppl again on my merc!!!

A lot of people don't get the importance of a name to some people. Some people don't recall some of the post during launch. Someone actually was harassing another player saying they "stole their name".

I got legacies on two servers and even though I like both legacy names I wish I had one of em on both. My character names mean a lot to me. I'm serious when I say I spend anywhere from 30mins to over an hr trying to decide on a name that suits the character I'm making that I like. Sometimes I would get a name look at the character for a while and delete it and go again. When your character name gets changed you have one chance of getting it right.

Just saying.

Well Kinrah Spider is getting emptier by the day, I play republic were are always outnumbured from the day one now on a good day we have 10 people on the fleet.

Restarting is always an option but abandoning all Ive acomplished to start from scratch is disapointing and frustating, plus losing my 36 legacy levels to start from 0.

I love this game, but Im cancelling my subscribtion until such a time Bioware adress the problem, which to this day they failed to do.

You may think im just another ragequiter, but i endured months of bugs, unplayable Ilum, lots imperial only exploits, being badly outnunbered in a pvp server to play, this is the game i endured the most problems to play ever.

Enough is enough.

Negative perceptions in a game forum are pretty meaningless, particularly when directed at a game producer.

If anything, Bioware has consistently demonstrated two things:

1) that they take issues that negatively impact a broad segment of their subscribers seriously (example: ability delay issues early in the game)

2) that they say very little in advance of finalizing and rolling out a fix to an issue that negatively impacts a broad segment of their subscrbers. (example: ability delay issues early in the game).

Where as, the doom and gloom segment of the forum community will cry loudly, cry often, and make demands that Bioware keep them fully informed of every discussion or idea test/development inside the Bioware facility in Austin.

What Bioware does, and continues to do, is mature and responsible business methodology.

What the doom and gloom segment of the forum community does is immature, not constructive, and often baseless.

If there will be a transfer - can you transfer a guild then? Or is your guild kinda stuck on the current server and then its just bad luck for you?

I apologize if this question has been answered before.
On the FAQ for the Australia region, they list a few things that will not be transferred to the new server with your character.

1) Guilds - These are server-specific. So you will need to join a new guild or recreate the guild on the new server when you get there.

2) Friends List - This is also server-specific, so when you get to the new server, your Friends List will be reset, and you'll need to find new friends and add them.

3) Items Listed on the GTN - These will not be automatically cancelled and returned to you, so before you request a server transfer, please cancel all of your existing items on the GTN, and then fetch those from the mail system, because...

4) Mail - No mail messages or embedded items or credits in those messages will be transferred with your character, as they are also server specific. So please fetch and retrieve all mail for any character you wish to transfer. Remember again that cancelling GTN auctions ends up refunding these items to you in your email (if I recall correctly, been a few weeks since I cancelled one, lol) so if you cancel GTN items, make sure you check your mail one final time to grab anything that's left.

Of course these are listed for the Australia/NZ regional players and the transfers they will be able to obtain for free toward the end of April.

At the Guild Summit, they speciifically stated, however, that once those transfers are conducted for the Australian/NZ players, then the system will be rolled out and available to the rest of the players at a later date. They have not stated that transfers will be free for every character, just for those in the Australian/NZ regions who qualify, and you should have received an email by now (or will receive it sometime in April) that lists more information if you are one of these players.

They also stated that they will make further announcements in April, which of course only just started, and still has 27 days remaining...

Hope that helps.

Congratulations. It's a lot of fun when you're back in with a good group of people.

I remember when I first re-rolled and wound up on Ord Mantell with about the same amount, and not only were there plenty of chatters and a lively discussion going on, but more than enough players for pick-up groups.

Last night there were some 150+ people on the Republic fleet, looking for all number of Flashpoints and groups. Even early morning on Sunday, there were some 30 people on Nar Shaddaa, and by the time 2 hours or so had rolled around, that number was up around 60 players.

Anyway, congrats again on the re-roll!
