I'm looking at guides for Armstech and it seems they all say different things. Some say you want scavenging and teasurehunting, some say you want investigation and not treasurehunting, and so on.

What's the deal deal with Armstech?

Investigation and Scavenging, definitely. Treasure Hunting would only have the occasional contribution via lockboxes if you get lucky. Treasure Hunting, in general, gets you gems for Artifice and the very occasional lockbox that might have something interesting in it.

Armstech used treasure hunting in older betas. Some of the information is probably outdated.

I have my Armstech at 170 now and it requires Scavenging and Investigating only. Didnt need any other stuff even once.

Look at the codex in-game, it lists what professions complement each crafting profession.
