pilotjosh Posted March 22, 2012 Share Posted March 22, 2012 I dont know if this has been suggested or not, but I think in the idea to get players to "hangout" in more areas other then fleet, there needs to be more places of interest for players to hangout and and have something to do. In Nar Shadda there is a nice casino already in place. I think it would be a great idea to make it a live casino where we can gamble and win credits in game. with the slot machines and roulette and even poker games would attract all kinds of players of all levels to have something extra to do. CAMELOTCRUSADE Posted April 21, 2012 Share Posted April 21, 2012 Want! I was disappointed the place had nothing interactable. EQ2 had pig races (?!) and and a goblin gambler you could bet with. It was pretty impossible to exploit them, so I suggest they look at those games if they want a good model. The first was low investment with a low return and the second was low investment, ridiculously good return but odds were so bad somebody won maybe 3 times a year (an they got the entire pot, hehe). JoserDaGizoat Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Sabak, pazaak, dejarik, ive done pazaak in star wars DnD using uno cards and dejarik using minis, shouldn't be to hard to put in the game and since pazaak has all ready been in video games before..... and how bout swoop races we can participate in and bet on.. and on the pvp side wouldn't it be interesting to be able to see stats and results for current pvp matches that ended and that you can place bets on during and before hand and an arena for live one on one duals. JakkFrost Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 I have to assume there's a planned future reason for both of the casino's on Nar Shaddaa, (there's a different one for each faction) because at the moment, the only use each one has that I'm aware of is for one class quest for each faction, bounty hunter for Imps, and smuggler for republic (iirc that is, might have been trooper, been a while). Those casino's are huge, and that's a lot of virtual real estate that otherwise has no current use. Especially considering those two class quests are behind instance walls, and thus could have been pretty much placed in any cantina on Nar Shaddaa, Club Ufora for example. I have been campaigning for this for a good few months now (as an adult player of 31 years of age) and have started several posts on the subject. Like a few people have said though....the reason it may not be in is down to Bioware not wanting to associate themselves with promoting Gambling. Also they need to ensure a lot of checks and preventitive measures are put in place to prevent younger / underage players from accessing the gambling features. so......hows about this then.....don't call it "gambling".....call it "mini games" ;-) So rather than players putting creds on the line and maybe they win and maybe they dont, make it FREE for all "mini-games" and earn mini-game commendations which you can use to purchase items from a mini-games vendor. That way its no different than say dailies or space combat but adds a bit more appeal to come back to nar shaada. so..........next question is then what mini-games would you have.... here are some ideas: Tauntaun racing - basically like horse racing but with tauntauns and riders - choose a tauntaun, if he wins you get 1 commendation, if he loses you get nothing, but you also lose nothing. Psychic Cards - dealer deals a card (with 1000+ variations) but face down, and you have to guess from a list of say 10 choices what that card is. If you guess right you get a commendation and you lose nothing. Orokeet Maze - Pick one of 6 Orokeets, if your Orokeet makes it through the maze faster than the others, you win a commendation. As these are mini-games, they would ideally last no longer than 30 seconds per game, so you could do lots of them quickly. So really the number of commendation you would need to buy the cheapest item would need to be in excess of 200 (almost 2hrs worth of constant play time). 200 comms would get you something like a lockbox then maybe something like 1000 for a nice piece of orange armour or something.
