When you add all these changes up, Focus Sentinels will be able to have a fully buffed Force Sweep every time it's off CD. Definitely not "small."

and everything outside of force sweep still hits like trash. Its a gimmick spec that only people who like to do a big crit every so often think is good. Its still a bad spec. No good sentinel runs it.

Yeah, I don't think its a spit in face. Sure, our lucky burst is going to go away (as Assault), but this, in theory, should give us a more reasonable and consistent DPS. But I am curious as to how much this will effect us. I feel like HiB every 6 seconds is a bit too harsh, and frankly, may make the specc a bit too boring and mechanical to play. Not to mention its our main ammo regeneration/heat venting system, which is really going to strain our rotation. It's bad enough Incendiary Round/Missile is so expensive.

Honestly, I'm surprised we didn't see any Assault Plastique changes, as its currently a theoretical DPS loss to even have. The only bonus is its range.

I can't bother to do the math right now, so I'm asking someone else to do it.

How significant does the increase in chance to trigger IA have to be to improve our already horrible ammo management?

Quote:
Ionic Accelerator now requires Plasma Cell to trigger. The chance to trigger this effect has been increased significantly but cannot trigger more than once every 6 seconds.
/ Bets Vanguard DPS's will tap hammer shot a lot in PVE...

Except now, they have a buffed Force Sweep twice as often as before. If we go with your assertion that "everything outside of force sweep still hits like trash," then their damage just got doubled.

P.S. I'm pretty sure no Sentinel you know is "good."

It's too bad they don't have another dps spec or anything

Anyways, here's to hoping hamstring makes it through PTR, major pain in the *** not having a slow.

I want to play Tactics so bad because all those mobility / snares talents sound interesting. But the damage is so weak compared to assault...

We already hit Hammer Shot a lot, so that really wont be any different.

Now that I think about it, the 6 second proc rate on Ionic Acc. puts it on par with Tactic's ability to regenerate 1 ammo every 6 seconds.

Eh, with the 6 sec cooldown on accelerator I think tactics really has a chance to pull out some comparable damage now as far as pvp. People always complain about ammo issues but aside from long fights or healers I don't have any issues if I use Fire Pulse in conjunction with Stockstrike.

Things get out of hand when you get a fully stacked pulse cannon off too, 6k+ range on a couple people. I think the slow on gut will help with some of that.

Edit:

Of course, I wouldn't mind battering ram getting the ionic treatment and resetting stockstrike's cooldown heh. Hopefully they aren't done normalizing damage between the two specs, or even other classes, some that really needed to get looked at slipped under at this time.
