Nine pages eh? Really?

It's just not funny anymore.

For future reference to anyone reading this thread or to those who missed this in the first place, no dev or GM EVER said what I wrote on the first post in the thread, one would note this by the Japanese McDonalds commercial you find when you check out my "source".

Anyways, kinda neat we were untouched though, class is *********** fantastic right now. No, we can't play every single spec and be equally viable, but this is the norm in this game and mmos in general. Every class in the game has only one viable spec or at the very most, two. Does this really put us in the "dire situation" that so many whiners have cast the class into?

Myself and the two other assassin in my guild are not "amazing" players and yet the following is true when we pvp: We ALWAYS do between 300k-500k damage in any wz, we have more self healing than any other dps with the exception of anni spec marauders, we're always able to lob out a ton of protection (30k-50k+), and no class stands a chance fighting us 1v1.

If you have a problem performing with your darkness assassin in any way shape or form, the problem lies between the computer and the chair. End of discussion.

Indeed a very good troll. 10/10.

My determination of whether a class/spec is OP and in need of a nerf relating to PvP is when I can appear to be skilled while playing that class/spec. If I get to a point where I can PvP with it and actually not spend a majority of my time waiting for the forcefield to let me back into the match... that's when it is probably going to get a nerf soon.

So far, darkness assassin is NOT that class and spec.

I'd rather see Immortals and Guardians get a DPS boost in their Tank speccs than nerf a Sin/Shadow

If Darkness seems weak it's seriously a L2P issue. The class is pretty much the hardest to kill class that's a credible threat in the game. Marauders have better situational survivality due to CDs, but we're still better overall by a significant margin. If you find yourself dead a lot of time a Darkness you'd just die even more if you're anyone else because you'd have far less defenses, unless you want to play a class that just hides way back all the time. In that case you're essentially a Huttball specialist.

Well in fairness I am only just now level 36 and I play a single warzone a day (on average, sometimes a couple, other times none at all). I do "ok" but I do PvP in a tank spec and in tanking gear. I generally manage to get between 4 and 7 medals in most WZs and spend most of my time guarding, taunting, and playing defense at objectives. I'm not racking up kills or damage, but I do get some fairly impressive "protection" scores and when I die it is typically something that is clearly "they way outgeared me" or "this guy and his buddies focus-fired me".

All in all, no complaints. I'm not the god of the warzone by any stretch, but I do feel like I am doing "reasonably well".

My previous post was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek bit of self-deprecation as most folks in pvp-oriented threads are all about how amazingly skilled they are. I'm sorry for not being more clear on that point.

It's worth noting that low level pvp doesn't even remotely reflect balance in pvp at level 50.

Thats not even the issue. The issue is why spec deception/madness when you can spec tank and run around in DPS gear being OP? This needs fixed. It should be fixed in 1.2 and if BW ignores the issue after what they did to sorcs then they truly have lost all credibility in my book as how to balance pvp in this game.

As a tank assassin, I welcome these changes, and here's why.

Right now, tanking gear is pointless in PVP. Absolutely pointless. I still wear it because I'm a masochist or something, but I recognize that I'm not getting any extra survivability out of it -or at least as much as I should.

They can't do a flat nerf to Willpower or anything silly like that to stop people from equipping dps gear without breaking the other specs which admittedly already suck. This means that the only logical ways to fix the problem are through flat DPS nerfs in the Darkness mechanics (likely, since it's the lazy way out, but would ultimately make our tanking suffer without some threat buffing to offset it), or by making defensive stats actually function in PVP (God please choose this BW).

We as a community need to show our support for improving defense mechanics if we want to make positive changes to not only our class, but other classes as well. By making tanks more tanky, we can seperate ourselves from our DPS specs, and they can get the love they need too! (And boy do they need it)
