I definately need more than 8 character slots, I had a smuggler but ended up deleting him because I wanted to have legacy perks on him.

I like this statement/argument it's short and to the point of why some of us want MOAR slots.

Altaholism is indeed a terrible infliction.

Maybe we should meet in the middle ground of "go to another server" let us cannibalize other servers but reduce the 8 slots we would get to 4 or something. The only people who lose are those who keep saying their server is dead.

I think i would be better to just add two more classes on each side
i want to stay empire and with only 4 to choose from and not liking the IA it's gets boring quickly
i don't want to redo the same quests/follow same paths when I make a new character, even if it is to have an alt with other spec.
I am a casual gamer looking for an exciting story, not some hardcore who just wants to lvl fast to 50, using alts, skipping heroic quests so for me the story has to be / stay interesting.
finding out that my sith warrior was even doing same quests my main BH had already done was already a sad occurrence for me.
so is it not time to make a first add-on with a few new planets, new quests and new classes to play (like playing chewbakka's story)
8 char slots is indeed slightly little, would like 2 more = 10 slots : since i have already 7 cos wanted to see the republic side as well in the beginning.

as far as the legacy system goes I would like to see as benefit that you can give your clothes a 'family look' like add and family emblem on it, or choose colour of a cape.

so if I finally get to woo/wed Mako will she also get my legacy name ?

I would drop a few bucks to be able to add another slot, up to a max of 16.
Dear BW,
Please nerf paper and buff rock. Scissors is fine as is.

It would be great if we got a few more character slots, i would say that 2 more would be enough for me.

I think that if you were designing a fairly major system that encourages having plenty of characters, then it would seem obvious that allowing alot of character slots, more than 8, would be a no brainer that goes hand in hand with such a system.

Like bread and butter, beer and pizza, cereal and milk, ham and burger. An increase in character slots, especially when it can be assumed that many people have made alot of alts already, should be something that needs to be a part of the design plan.

Or maybe they have data that shows that alot of people haven't used all of their slots. I have them all filled, myself. Maybe legacy levels unlock more?
How shall I ever understand this world? There is nothing on which it is so hard as poverty, and yet, there is nothing it condemns with such severity as the pursuit of wealth.

I think it would be nice if some of the Legacy unlocks were cross-server to help encourage players to create more characters. An example of a good cross-server unlock would be the races. Get a level 50 and you unlock that race on any server. The human unlock can remain on the same server for balance reasons. This would free up server slots to have more fun experimenting with races.

Since there's no cross-faction trades, I split my alts across 2 servers. One server to hold up to 8 Sith characters and another to hold up to 8 Republic characters.

Wait, why is Human unbalanced?

Oh well, folks do NOT worry! Bioware will give you more character slots... for 400* BW points each.

* 400 is an estimation and by no means the definitive price as the pricing models have yet been detailed, ironed out or approved

I'd like a minimum of four extra character slots when Legacy comes out.
I want to explore more options using alts.

  1. The bonus skill comes from the base class not the advance class. Force Choke is an ability ALL Sith Warriors get not the AC.
  2. You have to have them related in your family tree to get the ability.
  3. They will be allowing you to mail stuff between your alts cross faction so you can make the extra crafting professions (if you want to do all) on the opposing faction characters and mail mats, cash and items to em all.
  4. Eight characters can cover all the advance classes because they are mirrored. For example you can make a Sith Assassin and a Jedi Sage, a Sith Marauder and a Jedi Guardian. You get to experience the story for each class and the general gameplay for each advance class.
  5. You do not HAVE to make 4 republic and 4 empire if you want to then you'll have to delete one of your lower level characters (or repeate base class characters) if you got more than 4 of that faction to make 4 on the other faction.
