Its for the privilege of helping to pay the salaries of Bioware staff before the game is released and owning a virtual copy of the game which you cannot use.

Yeah, its the first game I have pre-ordered and I must say I am wishing I hadn't because of the false expectation about getting early access. Still, I do get to play a new game called click 'check new mail' every 5 minutes. Its so much fun

I wouldn't worry about checking it for another seven or eight hours.

You'll likely still get in, they are probably still trying to use the data for today to figure out invite numbers still.

Not necessarily, the beta was for testing the game. And pre-order, doesn't mean you were gauranteed to get in on the first day. I don't even know why we're all bothering to repeat or write this since it's apparant from the missed stickies and all of the information out there on pre-orders that people can't read.
