What is pushback and what does it do?

Are you referring to abilities? "Like reducing push back on force stasis for sentinels"? Basically when you are channeling an ability if you get hit it gets "pushed" shortening the channeled ability.

Oh, and it's not just that.

Also any abilities with casting time / activation time incoming damage will make their activation time longer which is also called pushback.

That is exactly what Raansu said just worded differently.

Raansu used a channeled spell as an example, but eternal just wanted to make sure you knew it also affected casted spells.

No it's not.

For a channel, the pushback shortens the time you spend channeling, which effectively reduces the amount of healing/damage done by that ability. You might lose one or two ticks of the channel due to pushback.

For something with an activation time, however, the pushback makes the cast take longer. The bar as it fills is literally pushed back toward the start, so a normal 2 second activation might end up taking 2.5 seconds due to push back. At the end of that, it still does the full effectiveness but it took you longer to get it cast.

In terms of DPS/HPS the results are similar. But in terms of raw numbers and throughput, they are different.

Like the other people said. It's not the same thing at all.

Chaneling time on chaneled abilities is made shorter

Casting time/activation time is made longer

Different abilities, different effect, but both are examples of pushback.
