No, it's not. Even if you can't cleanse everything, why is your DPS letting them just sit and spam DoTs? If there's you and 1 or 2 dps, it's a nonissue.

As it stands, my Empire main is a Sniper, and this change hurts my Eng/Leth hybrid spec pretty badly. Which wouldn't be a huge deal if it weren't for the fact that Lethality is pretty much the go-to pvp spec for Snipers, as things stand right now.
What exactly have they done to hurt you? DoT damage and duration has not been reduced and sniper dot's aren't getting nerfed (to my knowledge).
Raid progression no one cares about. Unimpressive quote or one liner. Uninteresting guild name. List of characters with their level and class symbol. Server. Referral link.

If spamming dots = skill, maybe it's time to quit the pvp in any mmo even GW2. It was OP as hell and there is no good argument to counter that.

Edit: typo
No one said it equaled skill. All we said was it's a valid strat and that cleansing solves all problems. So does not standing in AoE DoTs and not letting someone free cast DoTs

Off topic side note: GW2 doesn't require clicking stuff to cap.

Or to put it another way...

Not everyone plays a Sorcerer and can cleanse themselves.
You're a Sentinel, you can do it to them so it balances out.

Sniper has terrible survivability. It's useful as a defender only so long as it can DoT people and the other team's healers suck (which apparently is true in the cases of most people here). Thus this hurts Sniper

Don't forget that the average team these days is 4 Sorcerers and 4 Mercenaries, so they can technically wipe DoTs with ease.

3 out of 8 advanced classes can remove DoTs of some sort, 2 of the 8 are the most played classes in the game.

2 out of 8 advanced classes can remove DoTs from themselves and temporarily become immune to them for 3-5 seconds.

Our best dot is SIX seconds long. If everyone was restricted to six second dots, this wouldn't be an issue. It's the TWENTY ONE second dots that are the problem. 21 seconds is longer than the time it takes to die and take a speeder back to left/right, six seconds isn't even long enough to get back onto the speeder, no less off of it.

Most of my damage comes from my DOTs. If they're no longer interrupting objective caps, I have to take time and resources out of my damage output to actively stop them. And you can say, "Everybody else has to, so why shouldn't you?" but Lethality is already an energy-starved spec, in addition to not having any cleanse resistance built in. Having to spend more energy that I don't have to pop AoEs against multiple cappers (or out-of-sight cappers) only makes things worse.

That, too. It would be far less of a problem if I were an Operative.

Most DoTs are 6 seconds or 15 seconds. The only 18 second DoTs require the player to spec/stance into something, and the only 21 second DoT has to be spec'd into and is the least-played class/least-played spec in the game.

The 21 second and 18 second DoTs can be cured by Sorcerer/Sages, which are..... ALL OVER the place.
