I'm in the same boat that I need something to strive towards to keep me logging in. MMO's take little skill to play so if there's no incentive then what's the point? I'm already full BM gear with a casual play schedule and there's nothing really left to do..not even superficial achievements and economy and professions are non existent. I tried leveling an alt but its too boring and linear the 2nd time. I'll stick around till 1.2 but I dont have much hope really

Ihave not given up but I have went back to playing a real game "EvE"
I was promised a unbelievable pvp experience and all I got was some kind of instance warzones.
Atleast in eve I have better crafting better pvp and full open world.
I am keeping my account subbed hoping they will have some major changes soon.

Yeah, but it doesn't change the fact that they're insecure.

Same with me Khalvarik.

I rarely play anymore and have already mostly gone back to playing other games. I just log in on the weekends and do a couple of hardmodes now. But i'm going to stay subbed for a little while longer hoping for some good changes that might renew my interests.

If not I'll probably be moving on with the rest of my friends to a new game soon, and hopefully one that doesn't get boring quite so fast.

Don't give me that crappy superior attitude, or you'll have to deal with my crappy superior attitude!

I think peoples expectations are way to high and our patience has become something of a joke. Most of the people have forgotten that a community takes time, first tier endgame content is almost always easy, and we have all become really picky selfish gamers. I mean the game has only been out 70 some days and you expect them to be where MMO's that have been out for years are. That just isn't going to happen and to demand such is just being foolish. Bioware will learn from what they have done but its not a lesson they can apply today.

For those of you saying the Hardcore are the ones who fuel the community I say that you are wrong, the people with passion fuel the community and they can come from any section of the game. That said I don't think that Bioware should ignore the desires of a vocal minority, but that vocal minority needs to be patient. Games like this one evolve but much like Evolution it isn't something that is going to happen overnight. You have to give a game time even the best MMO's didn't get everything perfect right out the gate. Take off your rose colored sunglasses and enjoy the experience you have.
Didn't you get the memo? According to them we're not competing with WoW that came out 7 years ago but competing with WoW now. This is a nice statement when dealing with cars but not an MMO. MMOs have a life of its own. The best thing to compare it to is a living breathing entity. It's a new born infant with potential. It's up to the devs and us to mold it and shape it into something great. Bombard a child with negativity and it will not grow up great, the same with an MMO. Saying you suck and showing how it can be better is 2 different things. One has a negative effect and does nothing to improve anything the other is positive and constructive.

They want to talk about WoW now. Even with a now WoW after every major patch and especially after an expansion you have lag issues, comparability issues and in the case of expansions server issues. There's a general rule "Don't bother to log in on patch day. Ofcourse we all ignore it then complain about how bad playing on that day was. So after all these years working with the engine and code Blizzard still has issues. What does that say? That it's never easy when dealing with integrating new code into existing one.

Bottom line this game is new. It has potential and BioWare is currently working on bugs, content and QOL stuff players are asking for. We haven't hit the 3 month mark yet and they yell "FIX NOW I UNSUB!!!" To be honest I say **** or ****. Fixes take time.

"Still has issues" ROFLMAO...yet they went right ahead and knowingly sold their product to us, without mentioning that it "had issues". Effectively, our "newborn infant" has Downs Syndrome. Their fixes to date consist of removing the high end textures used to market their product prior to release , whilst telling us "oh, you don't understand, the HIGH button was an error". Next fix in the que, is telling us that they're going to add a switch so people can use super duper LOW quality textures to help performance.

They advertised a Porche. We test drove a Porche. With racing stripes and one of those cool looking air thingies on the trunk. But when we got it home and popped the hood, it had an engine ripped from a Ford Pinto stuffed under the hood, and the dealer had ripped all the fancy options and spiffy comfort items out.

So here we are. With an "MMO" that you can't get more than half a dozen people together without the engine hacking up hairballs, with texture quality comparable to 10 YO games. An MMO game that has zero community/guild functions, zero grouping tools, zero anything to be able to use the term "MMO" in conjunction with the game.

But we're supposed to be nice. We're supposed to be patient. But most importantly, we're supposed to continue to send them 'mo, 'mo, 'MO of our hard earned money. Get a grip, they spent 5+ years on this turkey, knowingly sold it to us as is, and a few months is going to make everything A-OK?

But hey, the single player game isn't all that bad. We can level our toons in solitary splendor...then turn right around and DO IT AGAIN! And did I mention, we can have SEX with our imaginary e-companions! Woohoo!!!

The sex is good...if only it were a mini-game.

Most of them, separate these kind of players by having all the content accessible to a small minority (2-5%) while the rest either try to see these places or forfeit any chance of seeing them due to the difficulty level / the time needed to spend on the game / the very high learning curve needed to overcome the encounters.

Thats innovative thinking and kudos to them. Now, ofc, the players that were enjoying feeling superior to the "rest of us" protest. There is nothing that distinguishes them from any other player. What they have, we can have it, what they have killed, we can kill it. Someone that seeks attention through a MMO would go nuts. Cry over in forums, threaten to cancel his subscription etc. But if we bring it to what matters most to a company, aka money, I, the happy casual have subscribed for 6 months, while the other person, will do it for a month or two & every time something happens that he doesnt like, he ll threaten to cancel. Its easy to guess which is the preferred customer.
That's not innovative..thats game breaking.

Even the most casual of casuals want something to strive for...want reward for effort put in.

Do you think it is a good idea to have a solo mob drop the same loot as a mob that takes 2-3 players to kill, and that mob drops the same loot as a FP mob that takes a group to kill, and that mob drops the same loot an OPs mob drops that takes 8-16 people to kill?

Why would anyone take the time, or effort to group up if that is the case?

That is the same model as giving out 7th place trophies to the 7 kids in a contest....or every little league getting a trophy because "everyone is a winner!"

Human beings in general need something to strive for and something to show their efforts are worth putting forth.

It has zero to do with elitism in the concept on its own.

Are some raiders elitist? Sure. Just the same as some casuals are simply jealous.

But it would be unfair to both groups to think everyone in those groups can be categorized the same way.

Harder content is not bad. Better rewards for beating harder content is not bad.

If you do not want to do it, no sweat...simply do not.
