So it will not go over 200kb/s... for an 11.9 gig update is a joke!

Why is this ?

I am 20mb/s internet and usually download at around 2.5mb/s so i would even be happy with 800-1100kb/s

Can this be fixed?

Hi SimonANT,

I am going to recommend you have a look here. Some of the steps may help increase your download speed.

Thanks

Got the exact same issue. However here the download speed is 400 KB/s while my connection can and does handle 120 mbit/s (14 MB/s).

Steam normally comes around 5 MB/s for a game
Blizzard normally in excess of 4 MB/s
SWTOR at a mere 400 KB/s During this time I ran a speedtest and I had 111.9 mbit/s left on the line with 9.4 mbit/s of upload speed.
Seriously this is the last time I bought anything from Origin these speeds are a joke.

Why can I not find a legitimate solution for this problem? This is absurd.

Thats not about how many Mbits/s you can RECEIVE.. Thats about bandwidth on other (Bioware) side..
Lets say (for expample) that BioWare have an 120mbit/s channel aswell..
If you are be the only one to download the patch, you will get your 120mbit/s speed..
But what happened if there is 100 people trying to download simultaneously?
Bioware`s 120mbit/s divided evenly among this 100 people, each receiving 120/100=0.12mbit/s speed..

Then either a lot of people are trying to download the PTS or their pipeline to the internet is smaller than a garden hose. I'm getting 190 KB/s when i have a 50 Meg connection. I should be able to download 11 gigs in under an hour under normal circumstances. I would be happy if I could get this downloaded in 6 hours. It looks like it is going to take days.
May the Schwartz be with you

I got a max of 2.3 mb/s while downloading the update a few seconds ago. It is probably slow because many people were trying to download it while you were, or something on your end such as firewall.

Downloading the PTS steadily at about 1MB per sec on a 10Mb line, it's not at their end.

I have also a fast optical fibre connection with no caps and I installed it at work onto my notebook and at home where I have also a 60 MBS connection, and in both locations I get identical download speeds - 2.6 mbyte/s.
