You do realize that blizzard has already stated that MoP will be geared towards casual gamers, right?

Also, who do you think you're fooling? WoW hasnt been "hard" since TBC. Unless you're bad.

^This

The people who say wow is easy are almost always judging that on normal modes and have never delved into heroics pre-nerfs. It's amazing.

Heroic raids are a small portion of the content. And, as you say , these heroics are typically only hard for a limited time. Gear and nerfs make them easier soon enough.

Though this tiny portion of the game may be difficult ( and only for a short time )

The vast majority of WoW is easy.

Very , Very easy.

Our raid group is going to start running nightmare only. With no logs we ran both ops on hm in 2 hours with 0 wipes. This game is definitely not too hard. With about 5 weeks of raiding as a guild and trying different groups, its not to hard to find out who is the weak link, and who is really pumping out damage. If anything no logs just require the raid leader to be more active as the fights go than just looking at numbers after.

No one said that we need logs atm for current easymode boss fights, we are talking about having challenging boss fights in the future.

Again ^this.

People need to read the thread before responding to the last couple posts.

None of us clamoring for logs/meters think we need them for the current content, I'd wager all of us have cleared nightmare.

What we want are more sophisticated, challenging and interesting bosses. Implementing combat logs and meters will enable the devs to make encounters that are actually difficult and require precise planning and execution because people will be able to reference logs to see exactly who is failing and at what mechanic.

Not all of us are satisfied with the current model of : acquire gear through fp's>>> move into hard modes and acquire slightly better gear>>> find 7 or 15 other similarly geared players>>>clear nightmare mode in a night or two>>>sit around and wait for the next operation.

Some of us would rather these bosses require some measure of skill to clear. Personally, working on a boss for two weeks and finally killing it because of people growing more accustomed to the various mechanics and because of certain crucial adjustments is more exciting and gratifying than killing a boss on my 4th or 5th attempt (usually less than that in this game).

P.S. Someone who hasn't kept up with this thread form the beginning is inevitably going to say that you can make encounters more difficult and still not need logs or meters. Yea, sure you can make a boss have more health or hit harder but eventually that gets old. If you asked wow devs I bet they would tell you that the introduction of combat logs and meters opened things up to them that weren't previously possible and allowed them to get more creative. Because people could access information more readily and customize exactly how they wanted it shown the devs could implement a wider array of mechanics, whether it be an expiring debuff that not only kills you but the people around you unless you're 8yds+ away from people and get dispelled within 5 seconds or it's an adds health that you need to closely monitor while damaging another target so as not to kill it too fast or too slow.

If you call WoW difficult, you don't know difficult. They dumbed WotLK wayyyy down then amped it up a fair bit for Cata. Everyone got used to facerolling everything and then got thrown for a loop. The first month or two for cata was fun for me, I went back to my grinding like I did in in classic and easily outdamaged people with far better gear than I had.

Then I quit due to boredom with raiding and instancing.
