U dont have any way to measure if you suck or not compared to your raid members. They might do 3 times more dps than you and in that light you would suck. But now we just have to take your word about your skill level that you dont even know yourself.

IF they start tailoring the game away from the current casual setting into something it isn't designed to be (hard core raiding) then I can see where you need to know the split-second timing of the encounter and your rotation.

In the current game they would only cause people (like many in this thread) to make judgements on other players - not based on whether they are having fun or accomplishing the goal - but based on hitting some 'perfect' DPS rotation.

I have already chosen to play a game like that and I use a combat parser over there. This isn't that game.

And - at the end of the day - it matters why? We win.

Actually the other day we were not accomplishing what we were trying to accomplish and the issue was hitting enrage timer on HM Karagga. Me and the raid leader trying to figure why we are hitting enrage timer after not doing so last week and all we can do is say "try harder" in vent. Yeah we had a few different people in the operation, but are they actually do better or worse then everyone else? Who knows...

...because if the boss doesn't die we have very little information on what went wrong or how to fix it?
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

You're so lost.

The current level of difficulty in this game is a joke. Nightmare modes don't come close to living up to their name, they're barely harder than LFR in WoW.

People that want combat logs want them so that they can not only evaluate themselves and their raid team members but also so that some actually challenging boss fights can be developed.

As it stands now the devs can't design anything even remotely challenging because players don't have the tools necessary to evaluate them. The way the game is now this might as well be space invaders with updated graphics.

Combat logs/meters/addons are all part of the evolution of this genre. They've been implemented because players wanted them. Their existence allows for faster paced, more fluid and more intricate boss design. If you want to play a game where you press a few buttons, dodge a few attacks and a boss drops that's fine, that's what normal and even "hard" modes should be for but there's a large group of players that aren't satisfied by that. There's a large group of players that know how gratifying a kill on a boss you've worked on for weeks can be and they were hoping SWTOR would provide them with that feeling, it hasn't to this point and it's not going to if the content remains so faceroll easy.

As other threads have attested - the only purpose of the enrage timer is to make you DPS more. So your answer is, DPS more.

Don't worry about the numbers. Are you winning or are you losing? That is the only measuring stick you need. If the group you raid with fails on a consistent basis - search for another raid group, untill you find one you can succeed with.

In case you havent noticed there is already 3 different difficulty levels of each encounter. Nightmare modes should be for those who are doing min/maxing, perfect specs, fotm setups etc. Normal modes for people like you that wants to have just fun and who doesnt care how you or others play aslong as the bosses die and hardmodes for people between that.

If youre talking about excluding people out due their performance, its not the case, nightmare modes should be only for best players and guilds as intented which aint the case right now so having easy easy ann easy modes is useless. There is supposed to be difficulty setting for everyones needs.

I'm not lost - you are playing the wrong game.

This is a casual game, not a hard core one.

You are looking for something that doesn't exist here and even admit it above and then want to change the game to accomodate your playstyle. Good luck with that.
