eagerly waiting for this.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

In any event - you may feel you are entitled to know what I'm doing and how I'm doing it for a game that I'm paying to play... but, alas, you aren't.
AGAIN - you have conflated a combat log with damage meters. The two are not the same. I'll repeat.

A combat log is not a damage meter.

I want a combat log. I want to know what the hell is happening.

The gaming world does not work that way - just like the real world. In every community there are irresponsible people.

Why are there weapon laws? Because people can't be trusted to use them responsibly.
Why are there drug laws? Because people cant be trusted to use them responsibly.
Why are there traffic laws? Because people can't be trusted to operate vehicles responsibly.

Fact is - without a governing body that is responsible for seeing to the "overall health" of a community, we would live in a world of chaos, ruled by people od doing whatever the heck they want to do.

A game enviroment is no different.
So we're equating combat logs to guns, drugs and vehicular homicide now?

Last I checked the government was a representative of the people not an all knowing being sent from heaven to oversee our everyday affairs. If there's a law in place it's because it was voted in by representatives of the people. Those representatives wouldn;t be in office if people didn't agree with their viewpoints.

The majority (from what I can tell) of the player base seems to be in favor of a combat log. Who are you to tell us we shouldn't have one? You don;t have to use it, you can find others that don't use it.

It won't affect you unless you let it.

Not everyone of us are such a superhuman that can see how much dmg and which CCs 5 people used on me and same time watch how much dmg my abilities do and how much i get healed. You must be greatest gamer ever created to see all that during intense combat.

I believe it should be implemented for all characters on the test server, for testing purposes.

If that was done, there would be no need for one in game. I feel it will help the players who play on the test server do just that.

In addition, I believe that making end game content about tank/heals/dps is getting very old. Once it is fully theorycrafted it is easy in ALL games to maximize dps/tank/healing abilities. I feel there should be more emphasis on strategy and hybrid builds utilizing cc, damage dampening/ampifying, and positioning. Final boss fights should be epic and take a decently long time, say 3 phases where maneuvering and transitioning is vital. This is when skill and quick thinking will take over and leave perfect builds/rotations behind.

Sorcs can stun at range and there is no animation. I have no idea which Sorc used it and where they are standing in relation to me.

Apply this to numerous other abilities. "Did I get hit by that aoe or not"? Who knows, because of all the ticking dots there's number flying everywhere.

Your "just watch!" advice may work in a SINGLE PLAYER 1v1 DUEL ON A STORY QUEST but don't even try to suggest that is a working solution.

I've never used a DPS meter - I only use a real-time combat log.

I'm not sure what caused you to jump into some odd adversarial approach with me but I don't have the patience for it.

A combat log gives you ALL my information (far more than a DPS meter) - what are you having trouble grasping when I tell you that you don't have a need for MY combat information?
