I do not see anything in your argument that extends beyond conjecture, your personal opinion or interpretation of some known issues. That is all fine, I can respect your own personal feelings, but we have entered into a discussion here where one side is claiming that SW has failed in pretty much every aspect of its intended use.

I, and apparently others that are enjoying the game, are simply asking for proof of this beyond personal opinion, or conjecture.
Wait a minute, who is arguing that TOR has failed? Certainly not I.

SOP is to escalate tickets to the proper department. I've had at least 8 or more and every last one of them was tagged and replied to. I find it very difficult to believe that they singled you out to ignore your tickets, go directly against set company policy in this manner.

I've heard, on these boards, many "horror" stories about their customer service. I've experience the total opposite. I mistakenly deleted my main character. I went to the customer service board, was informed there to use keyword, "Scooby" so as to expedite my concern to the proper department. This happened early in the morning. Six hours later I received a whisper from a customer service representative asking me if I had a moment to log off so that they could restore my character. I was back up an running in six hours, on a Saturday.

I'm sure you can see, based on the reality that I am seeing in every aspect of this game, why I am questioning so many of these posts attacking the game and the development company-especially those that claim that customer service is ignoring us when it is not only untrue, but defined company policy to the contrary.

Not one single person here has proof the game is failing, but those loving it apparently just don't matter.

I have loved this game from the moment I beta tested, and haven't stopped and I don't intend on stopping any time soon.

Anyone who claims TOR has failed hasn't really done their research, or is closing their eyes to reality.

Even if every single person in this General Discussion forum quit, you wouldn't be even close to approaching 5% of the player base, and that's about 85,000 people.
If things get any worse, I'll have to ask you to stop helping me.

For anyone thats interested i really enjoy this game. i find the missions and story lines to be compelling and well written. its been a most enjoyable expierence to run around and blast/glow stick enemies to the ground. The FP's have alot of ambiance with loud alarms and explosions to keep you involved and captivated. I have seen some bugs here and there but most minor and not enough to take away from the game most of the gripes i read/hear about have to do with end game PVP and lack of "end game content" from what ive seen there is more than enough at this point to keep me entertained but im sure for some super gamers that have blown through the content may have legitimate grip but i woudl guess i have about 40 to 45 hours into the game and i still have tons of things i havent accomplished.
when i think its only 2 months old i get excited thinking about the *awesomeness i have to look forward too.

*im not sure awesomeness is a word if its not it should be

LOL hard to tell anymore. I'm reading so much fable here that it does get mixed up.

If I misquoted you then you have my apology. ;p

SW:TOR most definitely is not that game. It is not designed to be that game and to be honest is unlikely to be that game any time soon.
That however does not make it a bad game, nor a flopped game. Just a different game than what you are looking for.

And for what it is worth, you have my sympathies. Heavy raiding focussed games are a dying breed. Casual, 'master it on an hour here and there', games are the new black.
The amount of players willing to invest time, effort and self discipline for raiding is diminishing rapidly. There simply are not enough players with that interest to justify investing 100+ million dollars in game development for them.
Thank for kicking my dream of a new EQ into the bin

I'll just have to load up my screenies of Quarm and Visimtar
What is that baseball bat in your signature? Oh! It's a lightsaber! How cute is that !

An MMO is a living, breathing game that evolves over time. Every single feature you want or have seen in other games will often be added in at a later date once they fix the most pressing post-launch issues. Let's look at the launch of WOW.

World of Warcraft
WOW has had SEVEN years to add content. SWTOR has had two months. Can you imagine how much better this game will be even a year from now? But I digress.
Why are you comparing the launch of WoW with SWTOR? They aren't in competition - SWTOR needs to compete with current WoW. Blizzard knew this when they released their game - and it had everything it needed to compete with it's contemporaries. Maybe that's one of the reasons it has been so successful. If BW took the same approach I'm sure it would have a chance of taking the number one spot. What they did include has some real polish and is a pleasure to play.

And to address one more thing - this notion that it took years for Blizzard to incorporate everything it has now like a LFD tool, damage meters and the Armor - it's a load of crap. The fact is - almost all of those things simply didn't exist previously and weren't being asked for. They started with a modifiable interface as a way of inviting the user base to show them what could be done. The capitalized on it and when people came up with good ideas they incorporated it. That's the hard way to do things. Where Blizzard had to innovate to keep customers happy, BW just has to copy what's been done before.

Combine that information with the fact that the industry knows most gamers decide on the value of an MMO in the first couple of months and there's no excuse for launching without basic expected features. There's a laundry list of games that prove that point - some gone F2P and others that have just faded.

All that being said - I like the game for the single player aspect and expect to get maybe 4 or 5 months out of it before moving on. New work will be appreciated, but I think the population has already dropped too far to make this game a long term investment.

It took me until now to wake up and see that this game is a wow clone.

Im a hard core star wars fan and hard core kotor fan I bought the Collectors edition of this game and after hitting 50 on my first character im bored out of my mind.

I feel like im sitting in stormwind on my night elf rogue when i log into my main where i can either grind heroics or grind bgs.

When i log on to a new character i get bored quickly of the garbage planetary quests you have to do in aditiion to the class story.

I dont care for the gameplay either. Kotor was great because of the character customizaiton when it came to skills and abilities. This is an MMO and you choose a class and your confined to pretty much one effective playstyle.

In short this game is pretty much wow and im sick of wow. I wanted kotor 3 or something unique and other than nice/nasty dialoge options

this game is star wars grind fest aka World of warcraft.

I dont care about graphics and i stomached wow so you cant say I hate MMOs im just sick of the ******** repetition.

What a disapointment just like dragon age 2 and the mass effect series where your forced to play as commander shepard.

I want to make a unique character that is relevant to a large plot and your character shouldnt talk it ruins the emersion

You shoudl expect bugs yes but the lack of key features that were pointed out since the begining of beta no!

every main stream MMO since EQ has had a functional, moviable UI except this one?

YEs EQ2, WoW, War Hammer, Rift, AoC, Aion, CoH, Champions online, ect... have all had bugs but they also had all the key UI features you would look for!

So in one sense your are right, you should expect bugs; but the lack of UI feature is a hard pill to swollow. What they do to the UI in the next big update will determine for me if I stay or go. (and I have 2 level 50s)

I want you to post this when GW2 is released we will see how its release will compare to SWtor.

I have beta tested 10 major MMOs since EQ and played at least 17 (those that come to mind with any fond memories) and this game ranks up there as one of the buggiest and one of the worst UIs the saver for this game is its great story and combat.

I played Vangaurd and it was buggy but man that was a great game! I think this one could be like that but man it's UI needs work.
