I think X-Server gonna be only for PVP. The LFG tool for PVE gonna be limited to server (single server only).

But, with each subsequent toon, I started doing much less group content. I still like to take my time with the stories, but I don't even bother to try to get a group going for that stuff anymore. That's why I'm in favor of queuing for lower level stuff and even 50 flashpoints. I've changed my mind to even go for cross-server for that, because I don't see the harm it could do, now.
Welcome to the fold brother! You will find our position both logical and defensible. And, we have the brightest minds in the galaxy.

I gotta admit, this is a pretty funny thread.

So a system that allows players to communicate with one another easier is going to "destroy the community"?

That's sort of like saying the construction of international airports has "destroyed the community".

Just sayin'

Shhhhh, don't try to use logic... the other side doesn't understand that level of thinking... they believe in fairy tails, monsters in the bedroom, and urban myths... oh, and boogy men! shhhh

Yeah its been a big bonus alright, rofl.
Totally untrue that it had anything to do with x-realm. Nerf flattened the progression curve, which was absolutely needed. It wasn't a result of x-realm, it was a smoothing out of some roadblocks to progression which kept several guilds from getting to the next step. The actual content nerfs didn't have as big an effect on this as the bumping of interim-gear stats. But yeah, some dungeon mechanics were made easier so that new 50's could start doing Tier 1 raids faster. And Tier 2 raid mechanics have been dialed back a little to help people get geared up for the Tier 3 raid coming out in a few months.

Smoothing out the progression curve was something SWTOR developers were saying was in the future for SWTOR at the guild summit.

I think people have a hard time understand the problem with WoW was it's players. The tool is fine.

But anyone who dictates how others should and shouldn't play (the anti-option crowd) isn't worried about what's best for the game, they are only worried about what they want.

So make your own groups. Stop trying to make everyone play like you. It's bad for the game. You really expect a lot of people's game time be wasted because YOU feel they shouldn't use a queue? Get out...

Although anyone serious about grouping has already quit so I guess it doesn't matter...
Absolutely this. Cross-server LFG was such a big boom to Rift. That plus free do-it-yourself server transfers have helped the game develop a massive community feel.

People who want x-realm will say anything to argue their point. This reminds me of the guy who told me that every mmo that has added x-realm has nerfed content afterwards, but thats just a coincidence.

Rift nerfed once to as you say "flatten the progression curve" pre x-realm, then they nerfed all content associated with x-realm again and again after they added it to the point that it was stupid easy and people started leaving. Trion responded with "master mode" dungeons.

BTW, once any boss has been downed a few times in any mmo then "smoothing out the progression curve" is codeword for "everyone gets a trophy."

I want it. I hate sitting for an hour looking for a group for a FP only to finally quit and go do some PvP or continue the story. I really want to do the FPs but no one will join me.

Genuine curiosity. How does a fully automated cross server system allow players to communicate with each other? Also the community in this sense would be considered the server wouldn't it, so how does communicating with another server improve the server community?

I'd like to point out that cross server LFG does not help with heroic quests. The concept I previously linked does.

*Prediction!*

When the single server LFG system comes out, everyone will complain about how long it takes to get a queue. They will demand that they fix it somehow *ehem* Cross server. Same thing happened in both WoW and Rift.
