The side with the pre-made is going to win if they are good players. They know the 4 they need and they will commmunicate every move they make for each and every goal.

or

That or you will just witness many odd things going on that you might call a lag spike that is really your opponent using some 3rd party hack program. I see it every day and I have reported it every day. Up until today. Did just my daily. Tomorrow is my last day so I figured the daily will be enough.

That was at the very least enjoyable. I like a close game win or not. You know that not a person cheated and the groups have a similar skill level.

The premade side will almost always beat the pug side in any warzone.

Cheating/exploiting can happen in any warzone(and it does).

Huttball is fine. People hate it because it requires more strategy and isn't faceroll.

Says someone with zero justification for what you are saying.

I started a thread about environmental hazards and ball possession in endgame Huttball, and I would love some feedback about potential adjustments to slow the game down. As it stands, environmental hazards are barely speedbumps in high end huttball. I posted a couple of ideas, curious what people think.

And I really really like the earlier poster's idea about fumbling the ball if you force leap/sprint/get rescued -- this would force teams to use those very abilities to either GET OPEN for a pass, or to bring teammates back into the fight, rather than to advance the ball 6 times in 4 minutes. Moving as a team and passing requires way more skill than just force sprinting thru the fire in tandem/leaping thru it/sprinting and rescuing across.

There is much more detail on the subject in the other thread -- not trying to hijack, just would like to get some ideas over there, not start a discussion here. I'm all about looking into what people are unhappy about and trying to find solutions.

Nerfing force leap and whatever the inquisitor sprint skills seem like no brainers. It's really just too huge of an advantage to cover so much ground so quickly. Obv the play testers didn't QQ over this or at least BW didn't listen if they did. IMO, anything that allows movement greater than whatever the designed movement was should cause a ball drop. It is really the only fair thing. Passing is supposed to score, not imba assassin run, or force jumping upto avoid large batches of otherwise impassable obstacles.

To some extent, I think that would be game-breaking. Right now, there are so many winning combinations in Huttball. Instead of the simple strategies of Voidstar or Aldaraan, teams can employ a whole range of strategies:
  1. Brute squads - a durable core of healers and tanks that moves the ball slowly across the arena.
  2. Bucket Brigades - a relatively stationary chain that tosses the ball from player to player in rapid succession.
  3. Wolf packs - one player carries the ball for as long as possible while his or her teammates run ahead to receive passes.
  4. Speed freaks - teams that rely on movement tricks to leap, sprint and pull their way to the end zone.
  5. Tricksters - stealthy players that creep into great receiving positions (like the end zones or the edge of the pit)

And that's just on offense. On defense we have teams that rely on massive damage to burn down the opposing ball carriers before they score. It feels odd for a DPSer (especially one who usually leads the attack) to play defense, but one or two high-damage characters can make it very difficult for their opponents to score. Some teams lock down their opponents by controlling parts of the arena (especially the center). Other groups pull their their foes out of position (this is a great way to set up interceptions just before a pass), knock them off walkways or trap them in hazards.

All these options make Huttball a challenging and highly-varied warzone. There are so many ways that any character can contribute. To me, any change that takes options away from the players would also take away some of that variety. It might not break the game entirely, but it would make Huttball much less entertaining.
This is my first visit to the Galaxy of Terror, and I'd like it to be a pleasant one.

Who cares if people pass the ball. That is not the problem. The problem is people you cannot stop from going across the line like assassins.

Agreed.

It's a shame we see so many posts bad-mouthing it.

These shameful posts should be less frequent once they introduce cross-server queues and with it the ability to chose the Warzone you want to queue for.

Telling the truth =/= Badmouthing...

It is an ok map, its just not balanced, so fix it. This stuff just proves the point about how you guys dont care for a balanced game. You just want to pub stomp with 4 sorcs and 4 jugg premade vs randoms in huttball with 0 skill and feel great about it afterwards.

Basically also why you guys deserve to be trolled and play a bad imbalanced game. Also why all of the real pvps going to leave for something else. Baddies ruining it for everyone...
