I started getting this code about 30 minutes ago.

Around 6pm CST I logged on and played for about 1.5 - 2 hours. I logged off, made some dinner. I tried to log back on and instead of going to my server's character selection I got sent to a blank server selection list. So I shut the game down, relaunched the launcher, repaired, hit play and got sent again to a blank server selection screen this time with the error code 4001 pop up.

I have changed absolutely nothing about any of my settings and have been playing the game just fine with no connection issues (past patch down times) for just about a week now, up until 30 minutes ago...

WTH?

Greetings Arigo,

If you are seeing a Blank Server Select screen, this issue could be caused by your firewall.

Please wait at least 3 minutes on the server page and confirm that the list has not been populated,then please remove and re-add "swtor.exe" to the list of exceptions of your firewall, disable any programs similar to "peer-blocker" and restart your Router.

Please be aware that we do not recommend to turn off firewall or your internet security completely.

For all those not sure how to set up exceptions for their firewall or internet security software please refer to following pages when using the Windows built-in firewall:

Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP

(Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content of other websites.)

If you are using a 3rd party software or Internet security software with built-in firewall please refer to the manual you have received with your software package. When you don't have a manual you have to visit the website of your software developer.

Also make sure you have only one firewall working at the same time. Never use a firewall delivered with your internet security software package together with your windows firewall - turn one of them off.

Don't use a proxy - it may interfere with the communication between your client and our servers. When you are on a public network like on the campus of an university or a hotel you have to contact the network administrator because they may block some ports used for server communication.

We also recommend that you turn off any software you are not using as long as you play Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Removing and then re-adding the exceptions to the firewall resolved the issue. Thanks much for the response.

I am also having this problem, after spending 6 hours to get the game to patch (seemingly encountered every possible bug that is known since the last patch).

Now I have no server list.

Steps taken;

1.. Not on wireless;
2. Have confirmed my connection;
3. Ran repair utility;
4. Deleted and redid my firewall exceptions for SWTOR; and
5. tried disabling my firewall and my virus scan.

Still no server list, I wait 3 mins I get error 4001 and booted. Between this issue, the wonderful introduction of cripplingly low fps a week after launch and all the wonderful launcher issues, my sense of haha when it comes to this game is pretty much gone.

It would be nice to be able to play, the way I could a week ago.

Greetings mordicai,

Please turn your router off and on and then restart the game.

Should you still be experiencing the same issue after trying this, please restart your PC.
