The builds suggested in the Bounty Hunter sections guide are not optimal for either.

Here are, in my opinion as someone who has no trouble getting over 350k in WZs, the best specs for a build that you can use for BOTH PvE and PvP:

http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#30...IkbRMdRkfzZR.1
^ This build gets Critical Reaction (% Alacricity when you crit) and Med tech which buffs reduces your heal's activation times. However, it does not get Jet escape and gets 1% less alacricity and accuracy.

OR

This build basically skips Critical reaction and Med tech, and instead will put your Jet Boost on a 15 second cool down (which is amazing for PvP) with the 2 PvP set bonus. It also gets 1% more Accuracy and Alacricity than the other build flat buffed.

What do you think? The difference in negligible, but important nevertheless.

I would dump the alacrity. Unless you plan to stack alacrity mods the casting difference is negligible and if do stack alacrity mods your taking a hit to your power/crit/surge stats.

Don't bother with alacrity at all, the 1.5s cast time on Tracer and 3s channel on Unload actually synergize well with our Terminal Velocity

Even the Jet Boost buffs from talents are slightly useful in PvE when trying to get adds off a healer (or yourself) and other situational uses.

All in all, alacrity as a dps is a waste of stats, get something else.

That being said, I think this talent spread would be more beneficial as you can dump wasted alacrity stats into heavier heat reduction in a burst phase or what have you.

Alacrity is crap, by the time you stack enough of it to make a difference you've gimped damage

alacrity is a healer stat tbh... dps should avoid imo
Remember this: Noobs have the most fun, they gain joy from things you disdain. They find value in that you find worthless. At the end of the day they have more fun per hour than any elitist I have ever known.

Anybody else care to comment on the viability of this build? I am a new merc looking for a good mixed PVE/PVP leveling spec.

Also, can anyone recommend ordering on allocation of the talent points, specifically when it would be best to pick up the BG and Pyro talents. Am I racing to get TM as soon as possible?

Having trouble getting over 350K? Lol. Why is it that important? I get 125k and I'm thrilled.

Personally I found 2 points in custom enviro suit (6% increase to healing received) of more value than pinning fire, but that's really a matter of play style preference.
