I am sure this has been mentioned before but honestly:

Before you go making changed like this and completely overhaul the entire thing you need to put in place a way for people to turn it off who don't want it. Don't be making mandatory complete overhauls of a system, i thought the idea was to fix responsive not add a laser light show.

Basic Addage here:

K.I.S.S Keep It Simple Stupid. Thats it, make it completely functional first, then add in graphics changes or other other things that you can Choose or Choose Not TO Use.

For me, just put Timers on the buttons counting down, Simplest thing ever, So im not trying to see a tiny sliver of a box that is grayed out because of the GCD. Just get rid rid of the GCD counter and put countdown timers.

But again, Make it optional

By now you realize that you have a diverse player base, not everyone is going to like everything, but do not force feed it to them and expect them to like it. This is not a single player console game, if you treat is as such you will continue to cause large uproars like this.

Personally I think they just need to hire some the "amateur" UI addon makers and let them go to work.

Of course allowing addons would do the same thing think about it BW

QFT. This, absolutely this. For the record the UI as it was in Vanilla launch was the best so far. Stuff didn't light up until it was off CD and you had the resources for it. That was the best system for Marauders. Ever since then it's been a total disaster for me, this last one gives me epilepsy.

WTB addons so I can have my bartender and OmniCC, kthx.

Voted good because there was no option for 'nice, but needs some work'.

In particular, the abilities which are only unavailable because of GCD running need to be better distinguishable from abilities that are unavailable for other reasons(and usually for a longer time) like no resource, out of range, conditions not met, etc. so that players can queue the next ability during the GCD instead of having to wait until after GCD finishes before they can see what abilities are available.

I thought the UI right before this change was good. The only change that was needed was abilities that could not be used should have stayed greyed out along with the sliding window that you have to indicate the cool down. When the cool down was over the window would have slid to the bottom and the ability would then display as normal

Please provide options for the user to activate and deactivate any visual
effect on the UI. Would really help a lot. We are all grown up enough to
decide to what we want to watch during our freetime!

Given those options it's terrible.

Why you feel the need to poll when you could just read the forums, or hell try playing your own game(!)*.... I really don't know.

*only slightly tongue in cheek, stupid as it sounds (even to me), I am starting to genuinely think that no-one involved in creating this game actually plays it.

I voted terrible but I don't think I'd mind as much if the ending flash wasn't so bright.

Oddly enough all of this could of been easily solved with a small change.. removing the flash at the end of the GCD. Hell even leave it on the end of long CDs and it wouldnt of mattered. the fact three sides of our screen all Blink every 1.5 seconds is whats getting people disoriented.

I never actually had any of the issues with past UI functions and designs some have complained about which triggered this need to constantly change them. That goes from Beta up until the "last" one we had.

the ONLY thing I think that would have made it better was more or less contrast. That is " skills in cool down just needed to be a little darker and stay that way until they were ready then pop back to full vivid colour"

the one we have now to me feels like I'm sitting at an overly attention grabbing video poker machine. My main is a Sentinel and Ive gotten to a point that you live or die by the cooldowns in a way I've not felt with other classes, and it's distracting, some abilities are lit up, others are dark but still ready to use ( which I cant tell they are ready to use at a uber swift glance, so that leads to skill spamming)

I also seem to see the flashing not only when they are done, but when they go into cooldown, or sometimes it just " seems" to flash for the sake of flashing to let me know " hey Im working on it, just thought you should know I'll be ready in a moment, Didn't mean to distract you from that elite that just broke your stasis and is about to utterly destroy you because you had to check on me after flashing you just there..."


Thats my spin at least. Not saying I wont or cant adjust, and in fact sort of had ( mostly by key spamming till something works in heated situations)

It sort of feels like " My car needed washer fluid added, nothing else, just something to help keep things clear.... But rather than simply add more fluid they rebuilt the entire engine and swapped out the dash board with a mini casino.
