Not sure if this'll help, check the spoiler for a hard mode tip.

Ya this boss is pretty ridiculous. There is so much going on you have to take into account, everything from the tanks getting debuffed, mines/stun droids everywhere, and sacrificing 2 people to purely solve the puzzle, adding enrage to all that is just plain stupid, make 1 mistake or have 1 of the fires not debuff him for whatever reason and it's GG but wipe and redo. The fight pretty much calls for little to no error sadly and is really over tuned compared to all the previous fights which my guild cleared first go.

Normal mode is cake, you have some people who derped up their run telling you wrong. It has more health because all 3 fires are the damage buff. Be smart how you set up your raid, and don't have any healers/melee get your tank get blown up. Cakewalk. Especially on Normal.

It's still a fun fight, but what they really should do is just switch the normal for the hard mode.

I don't know, if they changed him again with this patch, but last week it seemed to us, that normal mode was more difficult than nightmare.

If they haven't changed him much, he is clearly the most difficult boss on normal mode.

The "fix" they made was to make what was supposed to be the proper amount of droids spawn when using the console each time now. Many people had bad raid setups they were using on this fight and it caused them a lot of issues. We saw a double spawn of droids exactly one time we hit a console to do the burn last week on our combined normal/nightmare kills. If your setup was fine and you didn't freak out from a few more droids, you had zero issues on normal.

People see more health and think it means harder. When you're getting the damage buff on every burn and landing 12K+ hits it more than makes up for it.

They didn't change his heal at all between patches. He always had more health on normal mode and he was more difficult on normal mode for us after last weeks patch. Today we easily killed him first try in nightmare mode without anyone dying. Don't know how the normal mode would have gone, because we didn't do normal modes today.

There really is a simple solution to this.

Just run it on hard mode, believe me it's WAY easier on hard mode. Even better, you'll get superior loot (and no auto assign).

Seriously, it's the best advice you'll ever get. Switch to hard mode, if you can get the normal mode version to 30% you won't even hit enrage on the hard mode(using right,left,right...) or at the very worst hit the enrage or 1 or 2%.

Something is definitely wrong here, but until it get's fixed, just do the hard/nightmare version. HM is doable if you can get normal to 30%, and NM is doable if you can get normal to 10% before it enrages.

So much derp in this thread. Normal is not harder. Fail less. Every single flame gives the damage boost.

He's alot harder to kill now. We did need to use an assassin DPS OT even with our MT 3/5 Rakatta.

Group COMP:
1 Jugg Main Tank
1 Assassin OT/DPS
1 Marauder DPS
1 PT DPS
2 Snipers
2 OP Healers

Instead of having 3 people do the terminals we only used 2, a power tech dps and 1 sniper.

We put a healer up on the middle platform in front of the terminal on that far right corner.
The reason we did this was so that he could heal most of dps/tanks as long as they stayed away from the far side of the flame track, and he could also heal the 2 members running past the mines and doing the terminals.

Doing that we had 1 extra constant sniper dps on the boss the entire fight.
We put this sniper on the same corner right on top of the healer. The healer and sniper did not take any damage from the mine that spawns right on the middle of that platform.

We just tanked him back and fourth to the middle and right fire cannons. The boss puts an armor debuff on the tank so once our MT got 10 stacks the assassin would taunt and take the stacks until the MT's debuff wore off. After this it's just a tank and spank, and he never hits enrage.

Hope this helps.
