New unannounced worlds discovered?! | 05.05.2009 , 04:49 PM
Following on from detective work I did for the player races which the game may have (see the link in my sig) I decided to tackle another challenge. The worlds themselves. We already have some officially annoucned and rumors circulating about Aldaraan but better still is that the timeline video had a section which showed a galactic map with the Sith/Republic devision of worlds.

Now perhaps that map was little more than fancy graphics. It seemed too easy for them to be telling us indirectly what worlds where in the game. But look again. On that map you can clearly see marked the worlds which we know are in-game. Tython in the Deep Core, Nal Hutta on the Outter Rim, Korriban which is deep in Sith space and Ord Mantell which is just over the Sith/Republic border.

I won't go into full details here, instead just go to this link which will take you to the TOROcast forums where I have posted the images and details. The detective works starts nearer the bottom of the first page, originally it was a topic discussing Dantooine and then I found some official maps of the Star Wars universe. From there it was simply a case of joining the dots - as it were.

For those who don't want to click the link, allow me to summize. According to my theory and research the 'as yet' unannounced worlds are:

Ilum (famous Jedi crystal world)
Alderaan (we already had rumors of this. the map simply confirmed it)
Malastare or Naboo (too close in proximaty to be certain)
Tatooine (not really surprized there)
Mon Calamari (rejoice all you who wanted a watery world like Manaan[/b]

and on the Sith side...

Dantooine (probably the most conquered world... ever)
Onderon or Kashyyyk (again, too close in proximity to tell for sure)
Raxus (Raxus prime appeared in Force Unleashed if you're unfamiliar)
Bonadon or Seripedal (the two maps I used couldn't agree on the positioning)
Zonema Sekot (the 'living world', often used in the EU both BBY and ABY)

There is also two worlds, one on either side, which are completely off all known maps. These appear to be new worlds created especially by Bioware and are deep in unexplored space.

I don't think they did. As far as I know, it's based on speculation that Anchorhead, the only settlement during that time, would be long gone by now.

Anyway, good job! It's interesting to see different views and detective work done to try to uncover stuff early. Let's hope that Mon Calamari is an actual world (I really want that water world, different environments are always awesome).

This is several hundred years after KoTOR, even the Jawas in that game said that people had continually attempted to colonize the world. Given that the devs have said they're trying to make the game familar to fans of the films it would seem strange that a world which became so heavily used in the films would be excluded from the game.

Now bearing in mind however, this is still just an educated guess. I'll be revising this as new planets are announced and require the map to be re-evalated. But it will be interesting to see how close by estimates are. At least we may now have some idea of what is in the game based upon facts given to us the devs rather than pure speculation.

Heh. I'm not arguing against you, I actually agree with you, but I was simply stating where (I think) the opinion about Tatooine came from.

No it's based on speculation from the announcement press conference when Daniel was trying to draw a parallel to Tatooine basically being the equivalent to Modesto CA and saying that that would make Modesto CA the center of our galaxy. He was basically calling it boring a la Modesto CA

There you go then. I never actually got to listen to the press conference because it cut off on me a couple of minutes in.

And that Ord Mantell on that map appears to be off by a bit, especially seeing how it's most likely Republic.
