These 2 posts proves a most significant point.

People have different likes. I HATE the male IA voice and LOVE the IA ship. When my friend took me on his IA ship I was like Force me! Why couldn't I steal this bad boy? All those people that say the Empire stories and armors are better does not realize that to them it is. I'm yet to find a look I like on my SI but my JC got it down cold. Mako is my #1 companion and Corso I want to telekinetic throw him off a cliff.

Bottom line it's all individual preferences.

And the population imbalance is simple....

The films made the villians out to be powerful.... it took scores of "heroes" to take out the villians...

So give the people the choice... to be one of many or powerful as one... it is easy to pick what they choose

For me, I like being part of the group, and I am a special snowflake!!!!

Seems everyone on Repub side has decided to do one of two things:
1. Drop their main and roll a Trooper or
2. Roll Empire.

I did #1, then #2.

Havent looked back. But I will say this; when I was on Repub side it felt like we were the sucky side. Now it feels like Empire is! The grass is always greener on the other side. I am only staying because Force Choking other players and Sand people is so fullfilling :-)
WHY CAN'T I FAST TRAVEL TO MY SHIP?!

The difference between the Sith and the Reps is very interesting. I notice that people who play light or dark side often don't like each other, and I like that. When I see them in PVP I just want to smash those suckers and their rose colored glasses. PEACE IS A LIE.
The mentality of this post is why those of us on Republic, play Republic. The only one here who needs to grow up would be you.

I'm almost sad that my Jedi Consular story is nearly to its end. I do like the story a lot.

[QUOTE=Dabrixmgp;2592966]There is seriously absolutely no reason to go republic at all. The so called mirror classes are bugged in favor of Empire. Storylines, Empire are all better.

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiis iiiiiiiiiiiiiit ?

..........

there is not one class in this game, both factions combined, that can top smuggler story, voice acting, script, dialogues, realism, humor.

i repeat :

there is not one class in this game, both factions combined, that can top smuggler story, voice acting, script, dialogues, realism, humor.. thats probably because it was modeled after a smuggler novel.

..................

moreover, empire classes and stories, in comparison, look insanely stupid, dialogue too juvenile, story too predictable and makeshift, companions too lifeless.

sith warrior story is basically 'boooo ! i kill uuuu ! im ebiiil !!'. inquisitor story is just 'hey look im shooting lightning - let me get the next holocron'. no twisted plot and manipulation like palpatine does.

bounty hunter story is basically a way too blunt and tries too hard to be 'hardcore' criminal.

anyone who thinks empire has a single good storyline, is just a ****** wannabee that gets blinded by 'ooooh, sith' in my opinion.

I absolutely agree...albeit, I have a Smuggler and Inquisitor only really...but so far Jedi Consular is the only story that really engaged my interest. My Jedi Consular will be my main for years to come!!!

Agreed, OP. But it's not quite as drastic as you claim it to be.

Yes, there seems to be some favoritism towards Empire side from the devs. From class comparison to PvP. And yes, we did get a Darth-whatever statue in our collector's edition ("whatever" since I don't really care, ie: would rather have a Jedi statue).

I think Bioware was betting that the Republic faction would be played by more people at launch, so they sweetened the deal for the Empire players. Unfortunately it seems to be the opposite in that there are scads more Empire players on each server. Over time the Empire players may get bored and run through Republic characters in which the balance of the game will shift.

I'm not sure if there's anything they can do, but I agree that it's not helping PvP. From queued PvP to open area PvP, it's very much broken and one-sided right now. The poor Emp players get to do Huttball over and over again, and can't get enough players to kill on Illum. While the Republic side rarely wins queued matches and gets trounced on Illum. It has resulted in Emp and Pub using teamwork to get their PvP dailies and weeklies done by taking turns slaughtering each other in large groups on Illum (of which I've joined in). That's what Bioware did: it pretty much killed PvP for a large chunk of players.

As for PvE from regular questing to operations, none of this really matters.
