Considering my server went from que's every night, to no ques ever (not even on weekends), and I havn't seen an instanced world (ie multiple zone instances) since the opening week either,
I would point out that in the first week, they may have had to limit access because everyone was crammed into the lower level zones since few people started out at 50. Over time, the population has spread out across all the planets as some people levelled very quickly and some levelled slowly or developed multiple characters.

If 300,000 people did not renew after their first month, I think that sounds pretty good. Lots of people tend to play new games for a month or so and then drift off to do other things. This game will appeal (at least at the store) to more than just the hard-core MMO players. It is actually a pretty good single player game, that is just as expensive as other single player games. Has noone here ever played a $60 game for a month and then never played it again?

If they maintain a steady dropoff of subscribers after 2-3 months, then that might be the sign of a problem. However, having "light" servers might mean a lot of things, including that people rerolled on heavier ones -- leaving the lightest ones to die a natural death over time. This would be the natural evolution as people migrate around looking for the best community. You aren't going to see too many people migrating from heavy to light servers, so light servers are not likely to get any better. I do think eventually they may have to merge some of the lightest servers.

Guaranteed...

This. Voice over is not content.
Size matters not!

The first rule about Jar Jar is we don't talk about Jar Jar.

Some publishers refuse to give any numbers out and just claim that everything is fine. Look at Turbine, it's their policy to never give numbers. So, BW not giving numbers every second week is not worrying in itself.
Think of this: If you will play a Jedi or a Sith, now you will never get to take your apprentice to fight with you in flashpoints, warzones or raids. You will never face together any of the big end-game bosses.

Of course it is.

It's like claiming that there's no content in anything that you can listen onto with a radio.

When the numbers paint a bad picture, you'll get silence.

When they paint a rosey picture, you'll get weekly updates.

Game already peaked, and is starting to crash now.

You underestimate the power of the IP.

Compare Rift server population to SWTOR:

North America
Rift
12/16 Light

4/16 Medium

SWTOR

112/115 Light

3/115 Medium

Euro

Rift

12/18 Light

6/18 Medium

SWTOR

32/91 Light

59/91 Medium

SWTOR has waaaaay to many servers. The problem is the worlds aren't big or spacious enough to accommodate many players. Still, it's a big reason the game feels dead.

I see this game declining in subs for a bit until they get their end game up and running much better than now. This is really a solo game with 8 different stories, with some decent pvp and group content tossed in.

Guild Wars 2 could really hurt them whenever that launches.
Um, GW2 will have no endgame.

Their endgame is go to low levels and repeat/do things you missed.

Sorry to burst your GW2 bubble.

And with the b2p model, how often do you really think new content will be added?

(I only bring this up because you think SWTOR's end game is all there is.)

Small party repetition grinders are AWESOME!

I don't know why you philistines don't understand the awesomeness of doing the EXACT SAME THING for years on end!
