Aside from something that will probably never happen, we have WoW and SWTOR.

I am sorry but SWTOR is an amazing MMO and it will be here to stay, keep paying a subscription to hate, you are helping development costs.
People posting hate have probably unsubbed already. We just have days left on our account and we are still angry after waiting years for this game it was as terrible as it is.

The high level players are bored, and the people who don't feel like leveling another character aren't going to stick around for too long.
If you would stop and read some things you would see they are about to release a major content patch concerning PvP mostly but also some PvE in March, and every month after will get a major content patch

Star Wars end game in its current state is a disaster. I feel like Bioware wont be able to get content/fixes out fast enough and the subscriber base will decline. Endgame 50 is pretty bad right now. PVP gear system is complete garbage, PVP balance is bad. PVE is ok just so buggy and so thin. Yea theres patches coming out but i dont think people will wait that long. A lot of these patches should have been implemented into the release instead of the placeholder garbage systems they have now. 150-200 million dollars and this is it? They sank that whole budget into 1-50 voice acting and neglected the lifeblood of an mmo, the endgame.

It feels like people are so blinded by the Star Wars license they cant see the issues at end game, too many fanboys taking it personally about their star wars game. It Looks like the same trend that hit SWG in its early years so far.. hopefully Bioware can fix whats there and add some cool stuff. Lots of potential for swtor right now.

I'll gladly resub if they improve it in the next coming months. Seriously though pvp rng bag system is what bioware came up with? Not to mention the hundreds of other bugs like loot lockouts on flashpoint wipes, bag screen lagging the game, and ilum. Seems like their priorities were all wrong during development.

well they have 1.7 million active subscriptions, so I guess they aren't begging you back.

But you will come back anyway after you once again realize that you are tired of Fantasy MMO's and come back to blow things up or swing a lightsaber.

Issue with including the Oceanic players is that they get even less custemor support than the EU's, one of them mentioned a patch being around 7 pm her time, just to make an example. Until bioware finds a way to do more rolling maintenance on their servers it may be an issue for some of their players.

General issues include a rather poor communication skillset from bioware, frequent closing of threads (this one will likely be closed as well) and an inability to help players create a positive community.

Issue for PvE players is that there is'nt all that to content yet, offcourse this can also be exaggeratted a bit, its true for all games that really dedicated PvE players will burn through the content faster than its possible to generate it. With a speed factor of at least ten, likely a hundred. -Think of the trying to make a new and interesting concept for the players, the planning of the dungoen, the graphic design of it, the scripts, the bug testing, the time in test servers etc. Easely takes ten or hundred times as much time as playing through the content.
-As such the "lack of content" may be taken with a grain of salt, not that there is'nt a concern to address mind you, its just that people always will have some issues in this field.

Issue for PvP players is that there is'nt any rated matches, it lacks the "e-sports" formula thats popular elsewhere, it lacks premade teams facing premade teams (for good and bad), it has a focus that forces the player to face an uncertain period of time before said player can compete on an even footing with other players. However, this is the question of accomplishment, how much are you going to let players work to feel it is an accomplishment to gather their resources versus how long will it take to get frustrated. This is a personal issue, and is very hard to balance. This holds true wether you are WoW, EQ2, AoC, WAR or well, SW:TOR.

Issue for roleplayers (like myself) is smaller, most of us also enjoy one of the two above but frequently have smaller requirements, give us the ability to do emotes, a /random x-y roll (for example 1-100), chat bubbles and furniture we can use and sit down on and you did most of the work allready.
And a franchise like Star Wars has a greal appeal for roleplayers, all Bioware needs to do is enable the emote features allready existing in the game and add a few minor things. As a roleplayer though I must state that even in the story of MMO's this game could do with a bit more support. Suprising really as Bioware frequently presents itself to making roleplaying games (something blatantly untrue when we speak of singleplayer games, a singleplayer story is not a RPG, its an adventure game, actual roleplay requires at least two human players involved and thats it).

If we look at it overall though, then there is a slightly worrying issue that the game may not have a few flaws, but a lot of small flaws spread out over a vast area. Worst perhaps is'nt even in the game at all, but in Biowares method of dealing with the fanbase and Biowares lacking ability to communicate, in detail, what each patch does and what issues are being fixed. Its almost as if they are trying to "stealth fix" issues believing it better that we "don't know about them" than that we see they are there "making us aware of them".
...only the flawed philosophy in this is that players talk to each other, a lot. So the bugs do get known. Simply put, my criticsm there is that Bioware lacks clarity and open communication, but then again, they are a part of EA games who supported SOPA so I guess it all fits. Yes, the last one was a snide comment, no, its not intented to discuss that part.

Regards

Lars

I admit, 2 out of the three pvp mini games I have seen are so so in my opinion, but Hutt Ball is actually fun. Probably the best pvp run the flag I have ever played. Of course I loved WSG in WoW as well. lol

There are some issues with the game I don't really like.

1. This is a high tech society in a galaxy spanning universe. I'd like to be able to communicate with people on all planets and see what is being said everywhere.

2. Combined marketplace for both sith and republic. You know smugglers are already doing it anyway

3. A instance que system. Don't want to sit on the fleet waiting for an instance group.

4. More people in the pvp areas. Eight is really not enough for one of them, and ten would make all of them more fun.

5. Let me pick which pvp i want to do rather than forcing it to be random.

6. Move forward with multi-server pvp and instance ques when you do add instance ques.

7. Guild banks....this should have been in from the start.

As far as newer MMO's killing either SWTOR or WoW. Well nothing I see at the present could but when the AI routines for NPCS reaches the point it will in about 3-5 years I think all of these games with go the way of the Dino.

I doubt Titan will be anything different from WoW because of old man fear to do anything different after you made it big in a certain way.

Things I think will be huge in future MMOS:

1. User generated content. This is freaking gold mine if someone will do it and do it well.

2. NPCs that are actually smart and talk to you all the time, not just when they want you to do something. I'd love to see a game I could go bully someone whom I saved their life for a few credits if I was broke. And I could ask for help if I was stuck doing a mission and could not find a real player to help me.

3. Truly evolving worlds. Buildings being built over time, others crashing down, real weather and astronomical changes..basically a VR version of any world you can dream up that has all the trimmings RW life does.

Tons of other stuff but I have a dinner calling out my name and should leave it up to the rest of you to add ideas too
