There will be people who scream the game is rubbish and then run right back to wow forgeting why they left in the 1st place to rinse repeat the same content and hope they get it done fast enough before bliz nerf it through the ground until a cat with an itchy foot could complete it and there will be others who scream they hate wow and love this game and wow is this that and the other.

Personaly for me wow was good, i got bored of sitting in empty citys and had completed every single quest in the game, twice if you class loremaster being done before and also after the revamp (both horde and ally too mind you), i completed all old content and saw nothing new in the new content apart from smaller groups with less dynamics and an economy destroyed by gold sellers.

Most of this i expect as i played wow from release right upto last march. i saw how wow became big and i see this game having not just the same basis for that type of success but also alot more scope then wow does even right now after 7 years of development.

I also see the same arguments when it comes to this edition of guildwars as the arguments and statements for the last guildwars, how it was going to rule the mmo market. But that didnt and neither will GW2. Yes it maybe a brilliant game but its also free.

No one feels like there time has to be spent on it because they have no subs. they can drop gw at any time and just stop playing until a new content patch is out. They have no reason nor incentive to carry on playing until new content comes out.

And thats the key, only a subscription based game can keep up the lvl of development required for constant big content updates and the so called ones that are free that rely on pay to buy expantion patchs are just paying for subs in a different way and usually at a higher rate.

So for me i see me having atleast a year in this game before i complete all content that is out now and has been advertised as incoming. I see a great pvp game when it doesnt involve illum AND i see a dev team who arnt resting on there bums and are actualy creating content for us to play be it in a pve, pvp or an rp sense.

So id have a guess that we might have 2 million now, that will probably dip to 1.5 until the 3-6 month mark and then when the big content hits and the game gets its polish and shine the numbers will shoot right up and i darnt even guess the final numbers that swtor will have but who ever thinks there going to be the last person on the servers to turn the lights off before they leave. you have a very very very long time to wait.

This game ... future will be decided when the next big MMO like GW2 gets out , for now people like me put up with this crap they call a game cause it is SW , but when a good MMO gets out not even this will save it.
The Lord said: "QQ enough and thou shall receive it."
The followers said: "I shall QQ my lord, i shall QQ."
And since then , not a single day passed without the QQs being heard.

So, I don't find it strange at all that you were a fanboi of FFXIV and appear to be a hater/trashtalker of SWTOR, it's the same extremism and blindness to data that you don't like or that doesn't fit in your black & white view of things.
However, the world isn't just black & white nor does everyone thinks in extremes like people like you seem to do.

Yes, a number of servers being low on population is an observed fact, but the majority of servers still doing great on population numbers is also an observed fact, just like the 1.7 million active subs at the end of January is a fact. Truth lies always somewhere in the middle.
The fact that you don't like the game or can't enjoy it, doesn't mean that others feel the same. And if you don't like the game, well, sensible people would just move on to what DOES interest them.
The problem is that I'm so easy-going that I pretty much like EVERYTHING. I like everything! It comes as a huge shock to me that I actually don't like this game. I mean, it's truly, epic bad. I'm actually amazed by how bad it is, It shocks me in fact that something could be so incredibly bad. With that said, it amazes me how anyone could possibly find this good, and not even good, I mean like even average. This game is so far below average that even if it was one hundred times better, it would still be terrible.
AoC was better than this as an MMO, and that game was so littered with bugs it was almost unplayable. But this game... it's unplayable because it's so bad, not just because of bugs. This has been my worst MMO experience ever, and to be honest, I will probably never again in my life buy anything from Bioware. Dragon Age 2 was a giant kick in the groin, but this game... omg... was like cutting my entire groin area out with a rusty butter knife. No amount of Frank's Red Hot would make it taste good.

I really don't care either way.

Mine is conservatively 4.3 million subs. By year's end they're looking at 6.8 million.

No matter how many trolls on the forums try to tear this game down, the power and allure of lightstabers is too great.

I mean, it's not like Lucas is releasing episode I in 3-D or anything you know? Generating some interest in the franchise allllllllll over again.

fanboy's response... there are 1.7 million active subscriptions, durrr! 85% retention rate! durrrr!!!!

All you have to do is login to see the proof. Stop believing falsified numbers. Stop throwing the 1.7 million subs number around like it's some fact that couldn't possibly be manufactured by playing around with numbers and how they are reported. there is no way anyone with even half a brain could believe that there are 1.7 million people playing this game when they login.

At one time I was like all you fanboys. I was this way with FFXIV. I didn't want to believe the forums. I LOVE FF! it was a game I looked forward to like no other and would defend till my last breath... then one day it just hit me that ya... this game really is horrible and everyone saying that it was, was actually correct. All you fanboys will come to realize this soon enough. Stop believing the propagando coming from EA and log in and see it with your own eyes.
and yet you still have an active SWTOR account.

the game still hasn't launched in Australia/New Zealand if they add in a Spanish language version then you are right on track.
