before I decide to roll on an item, I will sit back and eat a pie, then drink some milk... then ponder the creation of the universe.

if at this time I can not answer the question "why are we here?" I will just roll on the loot to get more time to contemplate it's resolve.

That answer is about as rational as anyones, period.

No thanks, I will pass on your offer and find another group to run group content with that offers everyone in the group an equal chance to win the fruits of their labors that they can and will equip.
ditto, I want nothing to do with someone who would deny a group member by taking a drop for their companion who hasn't done a damn thing in the group.

Both get to roll, no one is taking anything. One has to have possession of an item before another can take it from them.

The item isn't really for the companion however, it's for me. I'm the one who's going to benefit from it. Unless you think my companions slip out when I'm not around and run PUGs or something.

The fact that I slot it on my companion, doesn't change the impact the item has on my character in the least. Especially when you are leveling up though the PvE content, where the group stuff is fairly well spaced out.

If we're talking about end game stuff, then that's a different thing completely. But most of us are not talking about end game.

If someone annoys me, I'll roll on their class stuff, delete it from my inventory and tell them.

If I pity someone I might pass on my own class stuff for them.

Sometimes I just help people and give them everything that drops.

The only justification I need is how I feel at the time. Try admitting it's the same for you.

Instead of making up all kinds of imaginary rules, social contracts and moral codes that you sometimes pretend to live by.

Hmm?

Then we will agree to disagree.

The whole issue here is rolling Need for a companion against a player in the group. Yeah you participated but your companion did not. Yet you think your companion deserves the loot as much as the player who ran through the FP with you? You will never change my mind on this and obviously I won't change yours either.

You can say the companion is a part of your character and I can say your companion did not participate. You group with your type and I will group with mine. I won't join a PUG if they play by your rules and you won't join one playing by mine.

Yes, I did - so I earned the right to have the same chance as you to win the items I personally decide I need since I helped to make them drop.

If you do not want me to earn that right, don't ask for my help.

I suggest:

1. Roll need for things YOU think you need. Feel free to reconsider what YOU think you need as you play the game.
2. Roll greed for basically everything else.
3. Roll pass for anything you don't want to be bothered with.

Easy, peasy. yw.

Same number of letters even hehe
equip is 5 letters, need is 4; greed is 5 letters, sell is 4.

maybe you mean the total number of letters?

anyway... I think that if you want to play with the terminology, and your goal is to make "greed" = sell" and "need" = "not sell" then you might be better off with
  • Keep
  • Sell

"Keep" applies to non-equippable loot like mounts, or non-combat pets. In other games you have rare quest starters, quest items, and the like which aren't equip-able.
