Just do a quick double check before the FP starts, and if you're not happy with the group members definitions of "need", take your leave and avoid them in the future.

The debate is pointless.
Oh yes, I am totally aware of that, but I get to hear cute stuff like I "need" credits. You are selfish not letting me need roll so I can vendor that nice upgrade for someone in the group!!

They do make such a compelling argument....but nah.

Failed logic is failed.

Selfish = trying to stack the deck in your favor = what you're trying to do.

There have been plenty of times i've lost out loot, but you don't see crying about it.

Man up.

Neither of those seem to apply... Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it so.
He has no argument. He's just trolling.
What is that baseball bat in your signature? Oh! It's a lightsaber! How cute is that !

I'm going to agree with you and Shadowkai, and just attempt to avoid selfish players in the future. That is why I am glad I have a guild of people who are mature and want to make sure everyone gets the items they need.
"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds."

if I need an item regardless of what it's for I click need.

your companions are you, they are an extension of your character and all characters have them.

If I need an item I roll need if I don't need an item I roll greed.

I don't discuss in chat the why's, what for's, and hows of why I need a piece of loot

the window pops up i mouseover for a split second and decide do I (encompassing ALL) need it?

if yes - then I click Need.

I have never had anyone complain, and I've seen jedi's roll need for gear with aim in it or cunning. We don't question cause we know we all have companions to gear.

course I never played the WoW for kids game. 9 years of Dark age of camelot where loot everyone rolled /random 100 or /random 1000 and whoever got highest number in chat got loot regardless if it was for alt or for them to resell.

and that's how it should be.

don't push your morals and ethics onto someone else. That's what political correctness tries to do is force others to think alike and it's highly offensive to try and tell me how I "should" think and believe.

therefore everyone just roll need on what YOU want and roll Greed on what YOU don't want.

ignore this loot political correctness trolling.

I an certain you didn't miss out on loot from lack of clicking the "need" button tho, am I right?

Seems like you are the one getting his panties in a bunch from where I'm sitting.

"Need Before Greed"The vast majority of MMORPG games have some sort of class system, where each player can choose a class which allows them certain skills, as well as placing certain restrictions on which items the player can use. Players of a certain class also prefer items which have attributes which improve statistics which give benefit to the primary skills of their class. Thus, each player often does not desire the same item, as a group of players generally has several of these classes in its makeup. However, many items also have some value in the in-game currency, so there is often some interest in the item from all players involved. The "Need Before Greed" system allows players who will make the most use of the items have priority over those who only desire the item for its monetary value, such that only the subset of players who will benefit the most are allowed to "roll" for the item. If no players desire the item, then a pure random system is used to determine who obtains the item for its monetary value. This system can be very straightforward and simple, especially in smaller groups of players where perhaps only two or three players desire the same item. However, this system also has some perceived downfalls which tend to aggravate players:

Deciding "Need" can be a difficult task due to the different playstyles and overlapping class needs and restrictions that exist in game mechanics. This can (and does) cause heated debates about which player receives the most benefit from an item.
Players can deceive other players in the group about their need, when they really desire the item for its monetary value. No consideration is given to players who have completed the content many times compared to players who have only completed the content a few times.
There is no cost involved in the act of rolling, nor any influence on the ability to get loot in the future, so there is little reason not to attempt to obtain any item you could reasonably use.
These perceived downfalls often cause various extra restrictions to be placed on the system such as:

Democratic decisions on which player has the most "need".
Restrictions on the number of items a player can get during one time period

But you're wrong. Happens plenty of times. And yes.. when someone tries to tell me what to do when they have no right to do so, gets under my skin. Just remember who started this thread (which group, not you in particular), the whiners.

Im just responding.
