You'd need something more objective than that.
The problem is that when your system and theirs conflict, theirs trumps yours because they will throw a tantrum and break up the group. To avoid this, many people end up "toeing the line" in order to complete the content.

That sounds like an exhaustive list to me.

I don't roll need to sell something, and it's not "willy-nilly" rolling need on everything just because. You aren't even trying to debate a strawman any more, you're just flinging dirt at caricatures.
My defintion of your defintion of need: willy-nilly.

Stop using terms like "strawman" when you obviously have no clue of their meaning.

And at the guy that "needs" the credits: LOL....surely you are the only one in group that "needs" credits. Grow up and learn to greed roll.

Guys, attempting to change the opinion of the "I can need anything whenever I want" crowd is obviously futile.

Just do a quick double check before the FP starts, and if you're not happy with the group members definitions of "need", take your leave and avoid them in the future.

The debate is pointless.

I think he does know what it means. I think you're sitting there, with absolutely no valid constructive input, so you decide to just type rubbish in the vain hope of getting a reply that you might have some inkling of how to actually reply to it.

You've been at this the past few nights, just trolling. When you actually post something, you inevitably get called on to explain it or show facts, and you can't so you then revert back into troll or insult mode.

If you have nothing more than schoolyard comments to make I think I'm done with you. If you feel you able to debate with a modicum of reality, then we can continue.

Then you're making a circular argument.

2 : in a haphazard or spontaneous manner
Neither of those seem to apply... Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it so.

And why is that? Everything I listed is an upgrade for me. I don't roll on items I can't use, or ones that don't improve my character. That's pretty much the raw, base definition of "need" as it originated, and as most MMO-related definition sites list it.

You can call it "willy-nilly" if you want, but it's an insulting term that has nothing to do with the position most people are advocating here. I fully appreciate the definition of "strawman" and that you're well beyond it.

You are correct, the debate is pointless to selfish people who just cannot understand basic logic and want things all their own way, even if they are selfish and greedy.

Actually the one who needs to grow up is you as you're the one having a hissy fit.
Who is more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows?

True, but I think this is something that over time you'll see peoples opinion changes. Again I keep coming back to orange gear and how it's very easy to maintain orange gear as BiS gear until end game. Even end game this will be true once they change how end game gear works.

When more and more people find that the blues that drop in FP's are no longer a upgrade, the prevailing opinion should change I think.
