I'm absolutely not saying that. I am, however, saying that 5 minutes (which is stretching it btw) is nothing.

10 minutes of loading time per day/session = 300 minutes per month if you play daily

= 5 hours per month wasted in unnecessary loading screens between zones that have no point.

10 mins of loading screen per day is probably a vast underestimate for many people too.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

While I do not concur with the title of the topic, I do believe that planet travel could've been simplified. In fact, there are only a few times where an orbital platform (jedi knight) or hangar (smuggler) are involved in anything for storylines. Yeah its cool to see your ship every now and again, so keep the fleet hangars, but planet hangars can go. There should be an elevator that takes you directly to your ship. then you can select your destination, and when you want to exit, it takes you to right outside that new planets hangar elevator. Again, if the hangar is needed for a story, then have a special instance for it, otherwise get rid of it.

And do not get rid of the ship as its BW wonderful implementation of player housing. Can't wait for decorations and other things to be added to it!

I just reported you by the way. I don't have ADHD just because I don't want to stare at loading screens all day long. And I don't like to get insulted either.

What do you gain from spending a rather big portion of your time in game travelling? I don't enjoy it at all. I'd rather spend my time in conversations or in combat.

Those loading screens and travelling sequences just artificially drag out the length of the game - and not for good.

Why are you playing a MMO if your time is so important to you?

Actually, the orbital stations are there because the starting planets don't have class hangers. Otherwise you would have to go through the fleet to get to and from those planets.
Now who ever cares for those "class hangar"?! My scoundrel started her way with landing directly onto Ord Mantell when she still was lvl1! If I did it it once (in quite harsh circumstances) - how comes that now I'm supposed to use a shuttle? They're cheating! I know one can land there ..... at least I can. And (apparently) since the ship was taken away from Ord - it's also pretty good for takeoff, not just for landings

Sure it is a little much at times, but it keeps me from leaving the planet all the time. I only head to my ship when i'm finished with a planet or have a crap load of stuff to sell on the market. Don't travel so much :P
Well, now what?

Welcome the ADHD generation of gamers.
What's amazing is it's 2012 and developers are still so lazy they put these time sink loading and running around in their games still instead of being creative, not to mention being so stupid to realize it's 2012, people don't want to wait in a loading screen and run around most of their playtime without getting anything done. Psssst....it's suppose to be fun, that's why we're paying for it....GET IT?????
