Then bad players getting the good gear doesnt mean anything cuz you have the gear anyways and you know your better. Point is people need to stop complaining about gear and just go f'ing get it....then the stats are ALL EQUAL, zomg problem solved....unless of course the problem is your actual skill!?!?
If gear was as easy to get now as it was back in the beginning, your point may have held some validity.

Sad but true to a certain extent, alot of the player base would rather have an advanatage and faceroll the other faction to show their "skill". An even playing field, that advantage isnt there and now they would be forced to play competitively. While alot of players would like to see even match ups, the vast majorit of "good pvpers", the ones whom say L2P noob when a complaint is made, would not want an even playing field, look at the early access how many players hit 50 to start farming their Bm gear on lowbies? How many used the exploits in Ilum to farm their BM gear?

LOL what in the living hell are you talking about?

This is exactly what I've been saying for a while now. Think about games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc. There is no gear curve, yet, look how many people STILL play those games, will never stop, and yet, keep buying more titles.

It's obvious it doesn't bored to anyone, even with the lack of a gear treadmill.

Players are getting of this gear **** and quite honestly, this is the ONLY situation, EVER, that instant gratification would be good.

Those aren't MMO's, those are console games. I don't need to pay $15 a month to play them either.

They aren't the same type of game. The other thing is that those games DO have progression through ranks, unlocks etc, prestige etc. Don't act like you start at rank 1 and go to the highest rank possible without getting anything from it.

If people don't like this sort of thing maybe they should be playing FPS and not MMOs. No MMO that wants to make money is going to just put out a game with nothing to chase after.

I didn't read 18 pages,

tldr: you're wrong.

Long version: PvP in MMOs is not FPS pvp, but it is still pvp, and still requires certain skills. Knowing how to do things faster/better/smarter than your opponent is still a valid competition, and this applies to gear grind just fine. You have equal opportunity, the rules are the same for the both of you, now fight. A good example of such a mechanic is present in Dodgeball. If one team gains an advantage, there is a positive feedback effect such that their odds increase. This is essentially MMO PvP. You figure out a good spec, you get all the datacrons, you win more warzones than your opponent, you get stronger, and your reward for your improved performance is an advantage.

Bore me harder. Bad PvPers have been whining about this crap for years. I could take off my Champion/battlemaster gear and still eat you alive. People grind PvP gear because they are better than you at PvP and have fun eating people like you all day. If you're so good then a terrible player with great PvP gear cannot beat you.

GW 2 is a MMO and their approach is:

"When a player takes a character into PvP, they are granted access to all the necessary skills, items, etc. Characters are set to the maximum level, putting everyone on an even playing field. This makes player skill more important than time invested in a particular character. When you take your character back to the PvE environment, you return to the skills and gear you had there, but the game will save your last PvP setup. You'll also be able to store templates for builds. This way, you can try out new stuff in PvP but still easily return to your familiar builds."

SW:TOR approach is: Let 50s farm 10s for a month, give them their own bracket now since they have farmed their BM gear and now let them farm fresh 50s getting geared. World pvp, lets let the higher population camp the lower population until they have farmed their BM gear in one day.

dude the gear is still easy to get, you might not dominate people while getting there but its just a frikin time sync........its easy you just gotta play

if you dont have time to play then dont complain.......

it takes no more than a month to most likely be in full champ gear, one month is nothing to mmo's.....people progress there toons over years of time
