Considering the game went live in 1999. Not bad at all and EQ1 now is completely different than EQ1 back then.

my appologies... it should have been listed in the second list. but one more thing that i've seen and forgot to mention.

WOW and DoAC have one thing in common Player run servers. i do not know much about DoAC free shards... but i do know WoW free servers are generally run by elitists and generally used by unscrupulous people. (note i did not say all the time)

also adding to the list DCUO... that's free to play. and also I'm going to add one more thing that has destroyed these games. gold farmers/sellers... they reduce the game to how much money you have. and i mean real world money.

still the last mmo that was the most fun was eq1. I remember in all my mmo experience getting to the desert of ro and dying because i fell down a huge dune! and travel was long and harsh... but more fun than let me click this and get there instantly.

the 20k people that continued to play swg because they couldn't let it go sure are a vocal bunch of sillies.

I keep coming back to raiding because you made it about raiding when you started talking about exclusion due to gear: that only occurs at end game in these games and it even occurred at end game in the games you nostalgically remember.

This isn't SWG.

Go play the flightless bird.
In Peace: Vigilance. In War: Awesomeness. In the Kitchen: Deliciousness.

Can you SOW me? lol

EQ was too big a "world" with nothing in it. Miles of running and waiting for mobs to camp.

Meridian 59 was the original; and it got a lot of things right. EQ 1 was fun for a few months. DAOC was good until level 35 then you got that special gear where you hit for 600 (-579) dmg. There were many others that came and went. I'd like to be hopeful and say this game could last a while. I'm having fun so far.

Haha yeah. UO broke my cherry to the MMO world, like many others. And my addiction started from there. Although I never got the same satisfaction as when I hit 7 skills to 100...

I never realized Brad McQuaid was addicted to Druids. That explains everything!

Other then those there were no quests.
Favourite leveling spots..

The ramp.. Remember that with the guard that walked by and killed everyone, every few hours?

Faydark orc camp room inside?

The Wall Of Slaughter?

The great Coldain Ring Quest?

First 'Time' raids?
