each to thier own with the graphics, most games i could play at max or if not max then very close to it, but that can cause stuttering at times, the graphics in most games dont make a huge difference from low to high, its usually cosmetic things like shadows and lighting, stuff that after a while you dont even notice, so if my fps is low then i just turn off some of the cosmetic features forget i had done it and have higher fps as a result. Win Win.

Bro, graphics and internet have nothing to do with eachother, do you actually beleive every frame gets streamed to your computer?

NO graphical information is sent over the internet, please dont spread information if you have no idea what your talking about.

Thanks for the tip Khelien!

I never had a problem with the graphics, but I may try this out just to see if I'm missing anything.
I did try what he suggested. It didn't change anything for me. Textures are still stuck at medium in-game, while they display at the selected setting at character select, and cutscenes.

There's definitely something wrong with this client build. I just can't explain all those issues any other way.

the point im trying to put across is that in order to keep raids of sort - 30 people on screen at once all doing their own thing etc - at a respectable performance level, you cant expect top of the line gfx. just wont happen until every user has super fast 20+ mb broadband and all have computers that can handle it. but as it stands, people dont.
i know shock right?! who are these poor peasant scum?!!? <- (sarcasm)

OK, the grpahics could improve. However they probably will implement better features. if you remember correctly the likes of LOTRO did not launch with DX11 capabilities. Patience is key.
Its already announced that very soon AA will be properly implemented without needing to edit .ini configs (btw when i add "AntiAliasingLevel = <insert num here>" the game client doesnt load ).

im just fed up of people complaining instead of playing. im LOVING the game for what it is already. I just find some people feel they have to complain about anything for the sake of it...

IMO id rather have steady decent performance > top notch graphics anywho...

each to their own. also im not commenting any further on these threads. infact im boycotting these forums coz they just get me angry and annoyed/frustrated. lol

queue the "lolz fanboy r0tfl n00b" comments because i really dont care

May the force be with you! Im away to do a Darth Doody...
Man, no one here is EXPECTING Crysis level graphics from this game. I haven't seen anyone say they do. But people are expecting graphics that are at least in line with the times and have a certain amount of scaleability to take advantage of higher end systems. Beyond some very heavy duty lighting/shadow effects, the ingame graphical settings barely take advantage of high end systems at all.

Also a lot of us would actually be content with simply having the "High" textures displayed permanently instead of only showing in the character selection screen, during cutscenes and when taking snapshots with the holo cam. The game already HAS those higher quality textures, they're RIGHT THERE on our harddrives, but the game is simply not letting us use them during regular gameplay - it's instead capping everyone, high power graphics card or not, at medium textures. I do find that very off-putting.

Just thought I'd add some screenshots to illustrate the problem (watch the frilly patterns on the robe):

during regular gameplay (medium texture)
during a cutscene (high texture)

It's definitely "a" problem, in that it's a rubbish card for gaming. It's an intel integrated chip on the motherboard, its graphical rendering power is close to none, so your game will never be very playable on it no matter what you do.

However the problem you're having of textures missing / display incorrectly, like shown in that video is not just due the card. Most likely you don't have the correct drivers installed for it. If your system is a laptop you need to go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest video display drivers for your laptop model - alternatively you could try downloading the latest drivers for the GMA 4500 from Intel's website directly.

Also you should do a file check on your game install, as corrupt or missing files could also cause this. To run a file check exit the game, start the launcher, log into it then press the Options button (the little cogwheels icon) and click the Repair button. It'll verify all your files.

Beyond that I don't know what else you can do - be prepared for some pretty bad performance ingame though, even if you fix your display issue.
