You can progress on Hard modes without damage meters, and if you are really hardcore that's how you should play, no addons at all, and yes, EQ raids were harder than WoW raids for the following reasons:

1) getting 75 people gathered together to do the raid
2) getting to the boss before other guilds on the server got there and took it down
3) setting up tank rotation and healing rotation (without using any healing addons) and keeping the timing down, hoping you don't fizzle a cast (like you can't do now) and if it fizzled, you scrambled to keep the tank up
4) the sheer amount of time, 4-5 hours just to get to the boss, take 20 minutes to kill the boss and get 4-5 pieces of loot.

So yes, I would say that EQ raids were harder when I played them.
So lets see here

1) having to get 75 people together does not make a raid hard, it just makes it hard to attempt raiding.
2) Again this doesn't make the raid hard it just makes it hard to access
3) Personally I haven't played EQ so I can't really comment on this but healers in wow use cooldowns based on certain points in the fight usually and isn't that hard to follow without the use of an addon.
4) Again time spent getting to the fight does not make the fight difficult just hard to access, the boss itself is all that really matters. Also 20 minute fights aren't unheard of in WoW although I can only think of maybe one, usually the hard fights drag out to around 15 minutes. Loot gain is irrelevant.

So 3 out of 4 of your points are invalid and your 1 point is only semi valid because I don't have the experience to claim one way or another.

Dude the best raiding guild in EQ left for wow because the raids were harder.

Now I understand people tend to get out of line and base everything on your dps/damage done but at the end of the day, there will be 3 difficulties. If you're a casual person, go do the easiest one.

You simply cannot progress on Hard Modes when you have no idea what type of numbers you and your guild are putting out. If a boss' numbers > yours = wipe. If your numbers > boss' = victory.

It's just that simple. Also there are people like me who get a kick out of being competitive. Let us be.
Who is not letting you be? The problem is that a lot of the people like you tend to ruin the experience for new / casual people who are actually playing to have fun. Remember when games were fun? Ninja Gaiden (NES) was a hard game, but it was fun and gave you a sense of accomplishment. Now imagine playing while some jerk is yelling at you telling you that your DPS sucks and you need to L2P while you're trying to figure out a boss pattern. Now the experience sucks. Now imagine that instead of that someone says, "Hey, I see what you're doing wrong, let me help you out". I don't see why that is so hard to understand. Go flex your e-nuts somewhere else and don't ruin this game

This is pointless, it's like talking to a wall.

And honestly if BW added DPS meters, I won't care as much as others here. I will just out dps people like you and others with your own tool. I've done it before and will do it again.

Peace, I am done bumping this pointless thread.

Once again you miss the point its not about who tops dps its to see who playing right and to critique your own play but nice try.
