Why? The "Elite" mindset. Fun was gone, it was all about getting the pixels with the better stats when the boss dropped. The Swagger and arrogance shown to players who didn't measure up, and instead of giving them advice or being helpful, they were usually insulted and kicked. All down to a DPS Meter.

I'm not saying im not in favor of an extra tool for players, but I am not in favor of the crowd/mindset it brings with it.

Protip: Raiding was never hard in any incarnation of WoW, on any class. It only went wrong when somebody got a phone call/sneezed/fainted or had a sudden memory lapse. When you had a mod screaming "RUN AWAY LITTLE GIRL" a second before the boss was about to do something, you didn't have to worry. You also spent the raid staring at meters instead of the fight unfolding in front of you.
Did you do any of these raids pre nerf by any chance? Because by most tallies only 5% of the player base beats raids on heroic pre nerf.

if ur a casual or a unskilled player u dont need a dps meter coz everyone can just autoattack and clear the end game content on "normal dificulty". its meant to be easy and there is nothing wrong with it

on the other hand in order to succeed in hard modes u need to do better than that
things like a dps meter help the better players achive theirs goals
do u like wipe for hours to enrage timer without knowing who failed ? no u dont ... ur not gonna do hard modes anyway

only explenation to "i dont want a DPS METER" drama is "i feel insecure about my skill and i dont wanna get cought" ...

No No No and NO. If you want damage metres, go back to WoW. This game does not need petty little elitist dictators telling the rest of what buttons we HAVE to press during raids, and sucking the fun out of the game. If that's the type of game your after.... WoW is over there ==== >

are you going to watch 3 hours of footage after any given raid to see what went wrong or right?

I would at least like in the future to have a combat log that can be saved to a file and parsed and viewed like worldoflogs does.

I hate damage meters in game but while raiding I find the information these parses do to be very valuable to evaluate what can be done differently/how to improve.

Yes the game is about having fun but its less fun to have 15 other people wipe all night because someone wasn't doing what they should be doing. Sometimes this isn't something you can visually see while doing what you are supposed to do. A quick look at the logs can often give you this information. This type of information can be used to help people who aren't doing their part or sometimes identify that they need help in the first place and make raiding a fun enjoyable process.

If they cared enough to claim that they had them then yes I would say that they care. That or they are trolling.

This is my main argument for a dps meter in this game.
