Myself and a few friends, are going to get ready to venture forth into some Ops. Is it safe to assume with 2 tanks, 2 heals and 4 dps will get the job done?

1 tank, 2 healers, 5 DPS. One DPS that can throw on tank loot(such as an assassin) is useful for a few encounters, but you never actually need one except for... pillars? Maybe? No, probably not even then. My group cleared everything on hard mode this week without even thinking about adding another tank in any capacity.

EV-normal
Ann.Droid - 1 tank
Gharj - 1 tank, 2nd helps with adds
Pylon - 2 tanks
Infernal council - 1 tank
Soa - 2 tanks as Soa can mindtrap the main tank.

KP
Bonetrasher - 1 tank
Jarg/Sorno - 2 tanks.
Foreman crusher - 1 tank
Fabricator - 1 tank, 2 definitely helps with the armor debuff.
Karagga - 1 tank

The adds are such a minor part of the encounter that this should hardly be a consideration.
Pylon - 2 tanks
The only thing remotely dangerous in this fight can be face-tanked by a DPS, with or without defensive cooldowns.
Infernal council - 1 tank
Soa - 2 tanks as Soa can mindtrap the main tank.
One DPS with a taunt is good enough here, doesn't require gimping the rest of the encounter.

KP
Bonetrasher - 1 tank
Jarg/Sorno - 2 tanks.
Demolished on hard mode with one tank, a second could possibly(?) be useful on nightmare, not normal or hard though.
Foreman crusher - 1 tank
Fabricator - 1 tank, 2 definitely helps with the armor debuff.
One tank, had no trouble even with a totally ungeared healer on him.
Karagga - 1 tank
My experience with it in bold. Results may vary.

My group ran with 2 tanks our first week, and we regretted it every step of the way, especially when we had to let him go because he wasn't needed.

Its purely YMMV, having 2 tanks on some encounters make them easier if the group is not having issues with enrage timers

We run 2 jugg tanks and have cleared all hardmodes without much of an issue. Almost all encounters except Soa we can kill it on the first attempt.

Same aside from Soa, but he can't ever be reliably one-shot with his wonky pillars. Even the first week of hardmodes we breezed through smooth as butter with one tank; with 5 DPS the encounter time is ridiculously short. 4th boss in Karaggas on HM he's down to 60% or lower in the duration of the initial heat blast, and mind traps on Soa explode hilariously.

It's just not worth it to bring more than one tank unless you're married to the guy.

Quite sad to see that only one tank is needed in Ops.

Blizzard made possible to have 2 tanks needed for most of the encounters, even in the 10m size, BW chose to go with one tank... It reduces the need of tanks for the pve guilds, and then people keep QQ about the scarcity of tanks for FP...

Usually the problem is a lack of tanks/healers, needing less of them is a good thing imo.

Well... is there not enough tanks/healers because we don't need them so much ? or is there not enough tanks/healers so we create content with less need of them ?

(i think the meaning is good, english still is a foreign language to me )
