Suggestion; Loot options

Suggestion 1: Add a loot option where the Need button can only be used by classes that use the gear themselves. So, a marauder can't roll Need on medium armor with Cunning listed as one of its stats.

 

This would merely be an option settable by the group leader out of combat. It would not be the default option, it would only take effect if the group leader wants to use it for the group.

 

Suggestion 2: Add a loot option that replaces Need and Greed with Roll. This way everyone can roll or pass equally, regardless of class or companions.

 

Both options help to reduce the confusion that comes from players having different views on who should be allowed to roll Need for items. Each player has their preference. With these rules each player can set the loot rules before they start, to reduce the confusion that might come up later.

 

Yes, it would be nice if players could just agree at the beginning of the run. However it is clear that no one is restricted to follow the rules set by the group. If someone intends to break the rules set by the group at the beginning, the group won't know until it's too late. These options give a way to make sure everyone is on the same page, so to speak.

More options is always good. An option to enable loot bags would also be good (if possible for FPs). But yes, we need OPTIONS.

 

There is no one loot system that will make everyone happy, so just add a 3-4 of the most common systems and have most people happy at least.

Loot bag? As in, everyone gets a bag from the boss fight instead of rolling for a single item? I'd support that. A bag that could contain an unslotted orange item or a single enhancement. That way everyone gets something.

I thought of another suggestion.

 

Have everyone who doesn't win an item from a boss be given a commendation. That way, if you don't want an item and will just Greed it to vendor, you can instead just pass and get a commendation. This would increase the chances that someone who actually has a use for an item but doesn't Need it will get it.

 

If you have no use for an item at all, you can just pass and get the commendation.

If you have a use for it, but don't need it as an upgrade you can hit Greed, if you lose you still get something.

If you need an item for an upgrade, but lose the roll to someone else, you still get something.

 

Or,

Reduce the cash rewarded by the boss, and the grant bonus credits to everyone who doesn't win an item from the boss.

 

Either of these would be consolation prizes for players who, due to simple bad luck, go an extended period of time without winning a roll for loot they need.
