They should offer free server xfer for like 2 weeks then shut down all the dead servers.

Dead, no. But it has a good chance of dying or becoming an LOTRO free to play game.

Even during off hours, there are 50-60 pubs online consistently, and 100+ imps if you /who 50. Obviously both sides are 100+ during peak hours

Comparatively, I was on a light/medium server when I played WoW and alliance had 100ish 85s on during peak hours max.

So no, game does not feel dead to me.

Don't get me wrong......I like the game... but I would be lying to myself if I did not acknowledge that something is definitely wrong with regards to population and social aspect.....which are very important aspects of any successful MMO.

Very very well said this is how it is on my server and like you I love the game but you have to be in denial if your Republic and don't see what we are seeing. A community makes a game not every person rolling a Sith does and in the end I still believe this game will be free to play.

Server balance should have been a top priority period I think BW killed themselves with this one and 1.1.

My server is growing (Legions of Lettow, Republic)
Fleet remains the same (~180-210 at peak), and all planets between level 11 and 30 or so which were at 50-75 at peak 2 weeks ago are now at 100-150.

In reference to what the OP is talking about, yes, I agree Illum is completely dead most of the time. 10 imps & 7 repubs when I last logged off. That blows. The zone is too big for that few people. Merging servers is in order if you want healthy servers full of life. Otherwise, they will continue to dwindle due to the lack of life currently in them. It's a dominoe effect. I'm talking from experience....ie: Warhammer Online. They waited too long to merge servers and it cost them big time. They merged them once, but it still wasn't enough. Needed a 2nd merge wave and they just didn't do it. Tons of people quite the game for that reason alone, though not the only reason. end game suckage was another.

Game isnt dead but Communication is.
People do their own thing and thats that.
Its not even ToRs Fault, it was the same in Rift and WoW.

Nope. Still plenty of people to group with. I just did two heroic 4 for Nar Shadda last time with a group. Took about 5 mins to get the group together and off we went.
